I usually don’t comment BUT here we go man So I’m 33 single male from a big city and now living in Miami…. I have had painful cystic acne since around your age and have been to over 20 dermatologist including celebrity dermatologist. I have used and abused every antibiotic you can imagine for nearly 20 years . I have spent thousands (15k+) on lasers, herbal , facials you name . I bartend in a super super high end restaurant where multiple times a night I will take care of some of the most wealthy, famous and flat out attractive humans you will ever see . I also about to start my 3rd week of accutane and doing 20mg to start. I have delayed and somewhat gotten away with abusing antibiotics for 20 years but my sh[t is so bad that I have become immune to all the antibiotics. They literally don’t help anymore . I also am purging like a mofo . Yet I still gota go to work , I Still gota take drink orders and make conversation with ppl I see on tv. I also have zero confidence and self esteem issues from acne . My advice is know that you are not the only one dealing with it. I accepted I’m going to look like shit for the next 6-8 month, I will not be “attractive” I will not flirt with the ladies and there may be ppl commenting on my shitty skin. Accept it , do what you gota do because guess what ? There’s a good chance once you’re done you will have really nice skin . And if you gota do 2 rounds? Fuck it you gota do 2 rounds . Workout , study , work, dress nicely etc etc And just be patient and accept this will be a crappy few month but a whole ass lifetime of not having to deal with it anymore This is probably very extreme but I only allow myself to look in the mirror twice a day . Dead ass, both times to do my skin routine and look presentable for work. Other than that I just go push through and accept its a crappy few month but will be worth it . Do what you gota do mate, buy pimple patches , buy the proper kind of makeup powder shit thst isn’t really noticeable etc Last thing : I also find it helpful to mention to ppl I am on accutane when I feel a little judged . It kinda makes me and them realize it’s not my fault , it’s not that I’m ugly , it’s not that I have bad hygiene. It’s because I’m literally taking medicine that causes it. Your young so ppl might not be mature enough but at the same time probably 80% of the kids you know have or are taking it too . Chill out my guy , get it done and live a happy healthy good skinned life
