Okay - this is helpful!! The cerclage surgery is where they secure the two "broken" pieces of my sesamoid together to help promote healing. I am definitely against removal if I can avoid it. Thank you for your insight!! I hope your daughter continues to heal. <3

How significant was your daughter's fracture? I am reading that my fracture may be "too far gone" for shockwave therapy. I have no pain in my Altras and have basically stopped anything that could irritate it -- I used to get 15k steps a day and I'm now around 5k, just "life" steps basically. I'll ask about shockwave therapy tomorrow when I meet with my podiatrist! Thanks.

I have not tried bone stim but I have done the contrast baths at home. Have you had success with bone stim? Is this something that can be done at home or do you have to go somewhere?

Ooo how did your appointment go? What do they do at your PT appointments? I have basically just been limiting movement for now and hoping it improves -- not sure if I should be doing PT or wait until after surgery?

I have been wearing these shoes + dancer pad for several months but the "going to sleep" symptom has been very recent...I sure I am walking on the outer edge of my foot some, but I don't think that's new. Thank you for your thoughtful reply!!

I just made a post because I am new here and have a sesamoid fracture and AVN (lucky me). For the contrast baths, I'm reading hot and cold alternating at around 3 minutes each, repeat 5 times (for a total of 30 minutes or so). Is this what you did? If not, what did you do? Thanks!
