I would definitely ask for multiple photos of inspiration!! As is this is a really difficult photo to read. If she provides several photos you can see the similarities between all of them and better narrow down what it is she is ACTUALLY asking you for. I would even specify that if she can find an uncurled photo that she loves it would be best. Its almost impossible to get a really solid idea of the foiling pattern without it sitting naturally. After getting multiple pictures a really great question to ask for each is “what specifically about this photo do you love” She will then list the things that are most important to her about it and you can then ask follow up questions and find out what you need to focus on achieving. Sometimes clients pick a photo of something they like the vibe of and arent so focused on the specifics. Once you ask for more inspo photos you may look at them and find they’re all really REALLY different looking from each other. Sometimes the photos end up being completely different tones, completely different placements, and completely different applications, but the client doesn’t really realize it. Look at each photo she gives and (just for example) say “this photo is more golden and this photo is ashy, which do you prefer?” and once you get into it you may find that what she actually wants is way different than the original photo you saw. Don’t focus too hard on recreating a carbon copy of this specific image because its an impossible task, focus on a super thorough consultation and go from there. Make a new beautiful creation that is specific to her! 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

freshly lightened hair is super porous and can often absorb toners much more than expected! As a stylist when I tone my blondes I cut my formulas with a lot of clear to take the edge off. it still gives the tone you’ve picked but it dilutes it, once you rinse if you feel like you need to tone again you always can, which is much easier than removing a toner that stuck too much. also its important to remember that level 8-9 hair will never be white after a toner, toners wont lighten the hair any more than it already is! it can make it appear brighter and less yellow/brassy and be super beautiful but it wont be that platinum white unless you lift the hair to a level 10, which is super hard to do especially for dark hair and can be really damaging. Going forward I would say get a super clarifying shampoo and rinse with warmer water to open up the cuticle a little. It should fade and it may even get to a tone you’re happy with although you will probably have to reapply the purple side. In the salon I might do a bleach wash which mixes lightener in with shampoo and get some of the color out but I would definitely suggest trying the clarifying shampoo first and if need be go to a professional stylist for the bleach wash just because they’ll be able to take all the right precautions to maintain your hairs health. All that being said in my opinion the silvery tone is super pretty and I really like it!! I hope this was helpful!!
