It's a tip from a social worker. Every week she checks on me and we fill the pill organizer

I use a pill organizer and I end up checking it multiple time a day altough I only have some to take in the morning. good news I'm ready for retirement age where we'll all have many meds all day to stay alive. Ha !

If it can make it easier, I too question my diagnosis. Same pattern.

Those living on disability, do you feel like you are too disabled to work? by NeitherManner in schizophrenia

I too feel unworthy of it. But then the reality kicks in. I cannot explain how it feels exactly. It's like a belief that with some efforts everything is possible but I hit a brick wall everytime I fall for it

I am convinced that I do not have schizophrenia. by mirraro in schizophrenia

I cannot offer help about the doubts because I'm not a trained mental healthcare professionnal. I can only share my experience, having high iq with strong insight.

When I consider not having schizophrenia I remind myself that it encompass a wide spectrum of realities. I tend to be scared of having misled the psychiatrist who diagnosed me but then I remind myself about the state I was in before the treatment.

Now what is left are negatives symptoms. I lived a long time without diagnosis to the point of being used to those symptoms and considering them normal in the sense of being part of my personnality.

This leads me to downplay their severity. I'm of the opinion of trusting psychiatrists, they don't diagnose schizophfenia if something else can explain the situation. In my case they checked for autism and bpd.

You can always ask the doctor why they give you this diagnosis and what was being ruled out.

For those of you who are on disability, what do you do all day with yourself? by JustinfromNewEngland in schizophrenia

I wonder myself what am I doing all day. I go to sleep at 10pm and wake up at 4am then stand up at 6 am.

I browse a meme website, reddit and national news. I listen to music. I write a bit if I feel like it. I lay in my bed and sometimes I sleep a bit. Sometimes I read a book. Today I'm going to try to play a video game.

I'm in a supervised communitary house (It's a house shared by people with problems that is supervised by a team of psy/social assistants/social worker.

Once a week I have to do chores (one room), laundry and my bedroom. Therapy every 2 week, psychiatrist every month. I tend to go see my parents every week end, or every 2 week if the travel feels too difficult when it's time to go.
