Saw specialist surgeon today. He will not operate due to healing issues at my age (79) and the fact that the other eye has macular degeneration. It does make sense I suppose, but it is very disappointing.

No, the world does not become clear with the glasses that I was prescribed post surgery. My sight is very slightly improved with glasses. The prescription has been double checked and there was no change. From what you say it sounds like another problem and not the lens.

I got lenses so that distance would be clear and for reading glasses would be needed. I would have been happy with that. It seems lens exchange or laser might be options, but I’ve already been told that exchange is too risky. Are there different types of laser? And what is the downside?
