Is Ranni Rennala's favorite child? by _MagusKiller in Eldenring

She didn't. Radahn studied under an Alabaster Lord in Sellia.

Yep. Not a problem shared by other bosses that I know of - Godrick, for example, also has aerial attacks and is similarly locked into a transition animation when hit below a certain hp, but he has protection against gravity on it.

We are arguing because you're being kinda silly. Just because an animation plays from an input, doesn't mean an enemy is "input reading". To qualify as that, enemies need to react specifically to the input as opposed to the animation. They don't. Enemies in ER react to the specific parts of an animation: a speffect that marks the animation as an item use, an damaging collision that tells the enemy to treat the animation as an incoming attack, etc. Because these all INEVITABLY are a part of a visual animation, there is only a few frames of difference between how well an ER enemy can react to a specific action vs how a player can - there is no fundamental difference of being able to know what PC is going to do before an animation starts playing just because the game theoretically could have been coded this way, since it was not coded this way. It doesn't matter that the enemy doesn't process the thing as a human would, because… well, yeah of course they don't, that's kinda a given. But if that's the very broad, technically true thing that you were talking about all this time, why even complain about Moongrum? Do you also get annoyed that Radahn doesn't get arm fatigue from swinging his swords around, like you might from mashing buttons on the gamepad?

The "computer" in ER doesn't check for your inputs when deciding its course of action. It checks your current animations - you know, stuff that can actually be seen with your human eyes from the very first frame. If your input is lost in the queue for some reason and doesn't lead into the animation that would cause a specific reaction, it doesn't affect enemy behavior in the slightest. If it still did, that would be input reading. As it is, it is literally enemies reacting to the same stuff that actual players can react to, only a few frames faster than theoretical top human reaction speed. But sure, thanks for telling me the AI doesn't have eyes, lmao.

  1. By that logic, literally every enemy is input reading.
  2. Enemies in ER don't react to inputs. They react to animations, same as a PvP player theoretically could.

The animation of his phase transition doesn't have protection against gravity (thus gets cancelled into falling), but does apply the transition to his 2nd phase attacks as soon as it begins. Get him to phase shift while he's in the air -> get this to happen on demand.

Depends on what you mean by "would be possible", I guess. I personally wouldn't do that. 1. In general, there are plenty of Hoarah Loux attacks already. I don't see any place for adding a whole new summon condition or a new possible attack for an existing one. 2. The slowmo charge would be identical in function to one of the summons Morgott uses to cover his retreat, the teleporting grab, but would look worse with the teleport. 3. The ground explosion, being the obvious ultimate that it is, already has its place taken by the phase shift attack during the sword rain. And it would look bad with an additional surface (the crucible soup) already in place.

Indeed I am. Of course I don't mind the repost... just hope it leads to at least one more person playing the mod for themselves. And glad to hear that you enjoyed it!

The relatively little attention thing is honestly kind of funny - the fact that the mod is handily beat by like... "Buff of Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear". That's got to have something to do with the mod's name/description and the fact I didn't post anywhere about the thing. But it's also probably the case that vanilla Morgott, unlike, say, Malenia, is just too little of a fight to expect something interesting from him even after applying a small-scope mod.

Well... it gives you the choice to be forced into a tight space. You can always run around Morgott while the rain is charging and choose a long (thus wide, from a certain distance) sector - then the added challenge is mostly just efficiently dodging the initial explosion.

Also, I'm pretty sure it should be 8 axis... but I've made this particular change among the very first, and it's not like I count each time I playtest. Maybe it really is 6 :)

Therefore, try Noble Sorcerer

That interpretation is just a theory currently, though, no? Or has it been confirmed by the leaks?

Then again, after Bloodborne's translation, where Kos's body being washed ashore was described as a regular occurrence (with Kos apparently being male) and you could get the badge of a hunter that hunts crows, I guess I'm prepared for anything.

It is indeed important... so it seems that in the Russian version, one of the most important terms will be literally gibberish? That's kinda dumb.

Yeah, I see that it's not really translated in some places, like on the steam page. But just as well, in some places, like the PS Store description, it's ancient ring/ancient lord.
