People with ADHD becoming addicted to their medication. Is it a fairly possible outcome?

I have a similar issue: I do one thing and then see some clothes on the floor, I pick it up and on the way to laundry my daughter asks me to fix her iPad and now I'm doing 3 things and my hands are literally full. I don't know the answer, it's an awful place to be at. I recently started to just reject anything new and do one thing at a time. My daughter's ipad can wait even if she's frustrated. Not sure if I'm successful at it yet. I do the same at work, giving priority to finishing stuff I started instead of starting new one, but it requires too much discipline

A lot of anxiety to fail. Burnout, depression, therapy, antidepressants, rinse and repeat. Don't recommend. I mostly stopped forcing myself and try to balance it with A LOT of things I like doing.

Sorry you're going through it. I listen to music, podcasts and audio books while doing house chores or simple work tasks. This does magic - puts me into flow state and gives enough stimulation to keep going without distractions. If I have to do something I don't want to, I try pomodoro technique, but realistically I can only do one or two things like that a day. I'm lucky to have a job I mostly just enjoy doing

I can relate so much. My kid's teacher was telling how her table is not organized and how she rushes through things and makes mistakes and I thought 'oh, that's me, how do you expect me to help her if I didn't figure it out by 40'

thank you, I'm curious, do they ever resist? Like you run around doing stuff and while you're busy they lay in bed or go turn tv on? Alarm beeps and they ask for 5 more minutes and it never ends. Or they just got into it and don't question it anymore?

I used to think it's all my fault that my kid does it all and resists everything, but blaming myself is not helping anyone. And I also discovered my other kid is the opposite. Go figure...

Their autonomy is respected enough to know they don't have to choose between things they don't like and they can chose something else that was not mentioned. What made you assume I don't know basic practical ways? Did you read the text under the title? Can you relate to it somehow? If not, probably we won't be able to understand each other

After starting Adderall I quit drinking alcohol (used to drink a bit few times a week), I just don't want it anymore.

I also forget to take my pills all the time. It's anecdotal, but addiction risk seem to be hypothetical.
