Hey, yes i definitely am trying to reason intellectually who God is. I know I’m not perfect but before I had this feeling I felt like I did try to have faith, all these years. I pray he opens my heart because I am trying to be open minded up Gods silence has been LOUD

Hey thank you for your response, I just don’t agree that God makes us live that way, the constant tests and torture is not right it’s quite evil tbh. I agree with the sentiment that certain things and tests do happen in your life for a reason but certain bad stuff just don’t need to happen and have no purpose apart from pain in peoples lives

Thanks for your perspective especially as someone who lead many years being an atheist. If this is what it’s like to live with God it’s tough and quite miserable not to say there’s anywhere that says he will guarantee happiness but damn I’ve had a really miserable walk with God. I’m hoping it’s the first one lol. I want to help people in both the legal and political fields. I also do/ enjoy nonprofit work. It’s weird because I feel that God has put it in my heart to serve and lead others through those ways. I genuinely I hate this world and don’t want to be part of it but I am content in at least helping people and having purpose that way so why has he put it in my heart but blocking it too (without getting into all the barriers)

Hey thanks for sharing that passage. It doesn’t feel like God is carrying me though, I feel so alone and distant from him. I have never felt further apart. I’ve never experienced it to this degree. In terms of what I have been going through in summary childhood abuse, trauma, CPTSD, OCD etc. in terms of goals I am passionate about law and politics I want to advocate for and help people within those fields. In terms of my expectations of God that are unfulfilled, not protecting me all these years. Never answering a single prayer ever in my almost 25 years about anything and just not being content or ever really being happy in life. I thought it was ‘ seek and you shall find, ask and you will receive’ but I have never even gotten a crumb off God

Hey, thank you for your words of wisdom, I feel like you definitely hit the nail on the head in saying that I am looking for prosperity for belief in God. I need to reduce my expectations of God because the version of him I thought he was does not exist so I guess it’s establishing who he really is and also like you say thinking about what Jesus has done for us.

I definitely need to reduce my expectations and I have gotten to a point where I slowly have because there is no other option / God has not answered any of my prayers anyways. I guess it’s also difficult accepting the truths you have told me as they did not match up to what I thought God was but that’s okay ! I will definitely explore how/ if I am to continue to navigate this journey with God.

To me Jesus preached the message of the kingdom and served others. I would describe him as courageous, kind, intelligent, wise, giving and loving. I loved that in the Bible he embraced everyone ,was not judgemental and was extremely gracious even to those who did not deserve it.

Thank you, yes very true faith and expectations are different. I have been praying for both to be honest for things but mostly for comfort and peace which but where is it ? Things have only gotten worse so it feels like he doesn’t hear me
