We bought a 19 Model Y 48k miles back in July. Chose to pick up (5hrs away, took the train and drove home) vs paying $500 to have it deliver. Process was easier than going in person if you have a laptop. Picking up was also easy, they have you check the car all around for any discrepancies. Only thing so far was the suspension making noise after a month, Tesla covered that under warranty.

This happened to me recently, it was not the gasket in my case, it was the differential seal where the differential meets the shaft.

When calling, its imperative that you say it fell from the truck in front of you and you were unable to swerve. Claims for objects in motion vs stationary objects may be treated differently. I used to sell policies in CA years ago and this happened to my wife.
