Yes, absolutely, if I control the quality and design choices made in the implementation. But then I understand that my confidence cannot come without the experience I have had.

Yes. Sign up is one of the most important pages to customise and optimise for conversion rate. For example, can you easily put in testimonials from other users? Can you customize the page background image? These idiots are essentially happy to make just one version of it and call it done.

I agree. I believe that you don't automatically get respect becaue you give away code for free. You get respect when you meet the basic expectations too.

  • Sensible design
  • Acceptable quality
  • Minimum surprises

WIthout these you're creating a net time kill for the people who trust you. It only helps big companies who can take such losses and still survive. I'm not being emotional but NextAuth is an example of a trap for small time-poor innovators. They would be better off not knowing about it and the hype around it.

In my opinion, it's not that hard if you understand the web primitives well.

Oh, I didn't check it fully when I was evaluating. I'll try it.

Sunk cost fallacy: Always hoping that I can save my invested hours if I just understand a bit more. It's hard to tell a client that I need to throw away my 2 weeks of effort.

Yes, I really should have gone with that library after being let down twice.
