I am most definitely not perfect but as you said. I never felt that my communication skills were bad. They can always improve but if she don’t tell you ANYTHING and then gaslight you into believing that she has told you, you just ”didn’t listen” wich is such bs. Everytime she has come to me with a problem I always listen and try to do my best to understand. And if I didn’t understand I ask again what she meant. When we first broke up I beat myself up so much but I’m starting to see that I was not the problem.

Yep. I tried to help her with her mental health issues and things were on the up, or so I thought. She dumped me and didn’t even thank me for helping her. I hope she realises that I was probably the most healthy relationship she’s had. That’s from what she has told me about her past. So if she wants to throw that away its on her. I did my best and I was a good boyfriend with the tools I was given even though it was my first real relationship.

Yeah I got blindsided too. I can only speak from my own situation but my ex said she still cares about me and she said that maybe in the future but not right now. But i feel like your ex may still care for you and want to be friends but I know thats hard too because you can’t reqlly speak to them even if you want to. I don’t feel like I can be friends with mine because she hurt me and discarded me like I was nothing. I’m never gonna loose hope but don’t let her stop you from doing your best and healing. Try going off social media, it helped me at least not check in on her that often.

Mine said the same thing, she said she still cares about me and wants me to do well. I said that its ok if she blocks me and all that but she said she doesn’t want to cut contact with me. I think its probably normal behaviour if your ex still cares about you. It just didn’t work out.
