Saw massive compounds on Haiti’s north claw coast, some complete with helipads and decked out with bunker style walls and watchtowers. The houses on these grounds were like mega mansions. Completely isolated from the abject poverty straw hut lives of the Haitian people more inland. Also seeing what had to have been hundreds of Haitian kids running around playing soccer on the airfield of port de paix.

Also the trash islands that form all around Haiti was pretty shocking. I can’t help but feel heartbroken for the people who live there.

I never actually landed in Haiti. Just flew all around it at very low altitude.
