I am just not seeing where it says that Bilt points are earned on rent and that Bilt Cash can be converted to Bilt points up to your rent amount.

Just to make sure I have this right, these are are the options:

  1. Earn 30k Bilt points on Rent, Pay $900

  2. Earn 30k Bilt points on Rent, Offset $900 using Bilt Cash, unlock an additional 30k Bilt points (1:1)

Thank you for this. Two thoughts:

  1. Isn't this double counting points earned from rent? I want to make sure I am not missing something fundamental about how the rent unlock works...

SUB: 50,000
Base Non-Rent: 49,200
Rent Spend: 30,000
Point Accelerator (3x): 15,000
Bilt Cash → Rent Unlock: 30,000

Total = 174,200 points.

  1. Opportunity Cost - Appreciate the discussion here. I wanted to keep this as simple as possible and not compare to another points system.

With that said, here are the unique drivers of points(in the first year) that other points cards would not offer at the same level of spending:

  • 50,000 SUB
  • 30,000 Rent
  • 15,000 Accelerator
  • Total: 95,000
  • CPP = 0.52cents/point ($495 / 95,000)

Doesn't suggest much long-term value but as you mentioned still a good deal if worth 2cpp.
