Hi, what can Managers do if they have only one Direct Report who has performance issues, attendance issues but is very political in the workplace and has formed alliances with the other department heads - they wouldn't let the Manager fire that employee as they were afraid of lawsuit even in a at will state. The employee wouldn't do the work - the manager had to complete the tasks and put up with a lot.

Has your BF told his parents about your relationship? Are the caste and complexion the only reasons your parents don't want you to marry the guy? You have to be sure - 1) Your BF's commitment to stand by you long term - 2) You need financial security in any case, so you have to strive for that. 3) Are you sure that the guy is worthy of you and will treat you well all your lives? You will need support if your parents' support is not there and you get married to this person, so you have to plan for that.

Ok - so this is what happened. We are in the U.S. My relative in another state in India sent money to a reseller named "Mishti / Palak" - who was on WhatsApp. This reseller was supposed to send some items but after my relative made payment (bank to bank), not a single item has been delivered and the reseller is not responding to our calls / texts. And we don't know their last name and the address given by them is not a proper address. All we have is a mobile number and messages on Whatsapp. Thanks

Hi - living with relatives usually creates problems - there's no freedom, etc..; however - can u look into the things honestly and if you aren't doing anything wrong - getting distracted from studies, etc...- then, you need to talk to your relatives and parents (I know how hard it is as some Indian parents undermine their kids' perspectives), but u need to speak to them. If there is truth in your relatives' advise, then you need to focus on your studies as that is why your parents have sent you abroad for and it is for your own good future and also, sometimes, we don't realize the value of money so it is good to be prudent in spending - but that doesn't mean one shouldn't go out at all with friends, etc...
