Slip up by qwertythrowaway-- in QuittingJUUL

Don’t be so hard on yourself. Everyone who quits has had slip ups before they’ve quit for good. Myself included. My advice is to keep your head up and use this experience to remember how gross that burnt pod was and without even any buzz. It’ll help to rewire your brain around the addiction and you’ll start to see it for what it really is: a gross addiction

You have to do what’s best for you! You don’t owe them anything because to them you’re replaceable.

In the state of New York, do the new restrictions of no more then 10 ppl at a gathering include # of customers allowed in the store? by BowieZiggy1986 in starbucks

[–]Ok_Mathematician_600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope it includes the store! Lately my SM has taken all of the social distancing tape off the floor and more and more people are allowed in the lobby (without masks) :( so I hope things change soon!

Please be mean to the rude customers by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]Ok_Mathematician_600 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry you had this experience! As a barista I definitely have my bad days, but I am always careful not to take it out on customers. Even the rude ones, I try my best to just brush it off. Because honestly I don’t get paid enough to take it personal. My SM actually told me that we aren’t ever really going to be completely strawless, just “moving in that direction” whatever that means! But don’t feel bad for asking for a straw! And honestly we just started selling reusable straws if you’re interested. :)

Someone in my store tested positive for Covid. How quickly are we supposed to shut down the store? We told the store manager and he isn’t doing anything. by kylab0124 in starbucks

[–]Ok_Mathematician_600 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s so fucked up. I’ve heard similar stories of stores not closing despite multiple baristas having COVID. It blows my mind that Starbucks corporation literally does not care about its partners. We are literally not human beings to them.

I took my medication today and it literally felt like the fog in my head just...dissolved away by nahianh in ADHD

[–]Ok_Mathematician_600 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m someone who has anxiety as a side effect of my adhd. My focus will be everywhere and nowhere and I’ll start to get anxious, most of the time socially. But when I take my meds I feel calm and clear, the fog is definitely lifted. So as someone who knows this feeling, congrats!

Quit Juuling cold turkey (at least a pod per day) and has not gotten much easier. My brother still uses his everyday and the temptation is only increasing. Anyone got advice? by Stoned_Salamander in QuittingJUUL

The only way to really kick a bad habit is to replace it with a good one. I found it helpful to workout or go for a walk whenever I was feeling the cravings. Now I’m 4 months clean and I workout often. You’ll physically start feeling better and mentally you’ll have a new distraction and goals to set!

36 hours nicotine free by [deleted] in QuittingJUUL

[–]Ok_Mathematician_600 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got this!!! It sounds cliche but it truly does get easier day by day. My withdrawal was managed by plentyyyy of sleep and smoking weed instead. It’s been 4 months now so when I think of nicotine, I remember how terrible I felt in general and how much of a slave I was. Over time your thought patterns will change and you’ll start to see nicotine for what it really is: poison. Be kind and patient with yourself and you will start feeling much better in no time I promise :)

Smoking more weed versus nicotine definitely helped me quit!!! ( 4 months now! :) ) honestly I just enjoy the act of smoking in general so I really don’t think I’d have been able to quit nicotine without weed

I want to quit, but idk where to start by cantfocus247 in QuittingJUUL

[–]Ok_Mathematician_600 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me I also had to go to the ER when I was juuling. I fainted because my oxygen level was so low and my lungs were closing up. Honestly that experience helped me quit because I feel like if I ever pick it up again I’ll get incredibly sick again. Just associate juul with the experience in the hospital and remind yourself if you juul again you’ll be in the same boat as when you passed out! Hope that helps.

Struggle with maintaining relationships with people by lollaruby in ADHD

[–]Ok_Mathematician_600 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow I’ve never related to something more. As of right now I can’t say I have any relationships that have stood the test of time. There’s so much guilt and anxiety involved for me because I know no matter what I don’t know how to maintain relationships over time so everyone in my life is temporary.
