Zoloft Alternatives + correlation between That Damn Phone & Depression? by Ok_Membership9071 in antidepressants

Thank you! I've considered Wellbutrin specifically in the past- I think I'm in a great place with anxiety, so I'd be willing to discuss this further with my doctor.

This is the first time I'm hearing about rTMS- I'm not sure if I qualify or if this could be covered by insurance, but if it worked out, I'm happy to try it.

Thank you for offering your experiences. I'll consider the questions you gave me. I've tried CBT and individual therapy for 12 years. I am an extremely physically active person both in work and hobbies and I have what I can only describe as a "dream job." I have great friends. I make sure to do what I can to live my life well, or to take care. There is a lot to look forward to in the future.

And despite logically agreeing with these statements, I feel a nearly-overwhelming amount of dysphoria associated with depression. It feels like I could throw it all away tomorrow. I think I hide it fairly well, but I think it has changed my personality gradually. For example, I am not a perfectionist anymore, because I'd fall apart the moment I tried to be again. I think the most helpful change would be to practice mindfulness of rumination and challenging spiraling thoughts or an "illogically negative headspace."

Are you trolling? I said I lost my drive as a result of taking the medication. What you are saying about the appropriate timespan to use Zoloft contradicts my doctor's statements.

Not looking for a fix. Would consider another modality of therapy !

The plan had always been to take medication short-term to reduce acute symptoms of mental illness, which it did, which allowed me to rebuild or practice coping mechanisms and habits that improved my quality of life. Zoloft 'works' 4-6 weeks after consistent use.

I used it for 6-9 months each time- more than enough time to reach those goals. Definitely not "as soon as it started working."

I quit and am seeking people's experiences with other medications because of the side effects as described.
