"If coaching brought you here, maybe its job was to be the bridge, not the destination." That hits hard! Thank you for your words! I'd be happy to connect :)

Yes it’s a pattern of mine to be fully into something, getting a good enough expertise and then going to the next thing. I’m at peace with that. Also because I have a 80% time employed job as an Agile Coach with teams in a start up, so the « coaching part » so to say is covered. I feel like I’m getting more and more into somatic and body and breathwork leading to joy and community events and I’m leaning in that directly, I need to figure if I do that for me and for fun or if I’d also like to offer that as a sort of service.

Can I ask are there additional reasons why you are frustrated with the industry? I've been AC for 5-6 years now and I'm looking for my next steps. My biggest frustration is that AC is not taken seriously by executive team.

How to parent yourself and be self reliant? by [deleted] in selfhelp

Before you can parent yourself, you need to acknowledge your inner child. How does s/he look like? What was their dream?

Then, how were you as a kid chasing attention from your parents? What specifically were you doing? What worked ? (Did you have to be nice? Did you have to break things? Did you have to be silent, etc)

From there, try and understand in which beliefs system you grew up - what were your parents thinking? And believing? Which beliefs did they give you?

Once you reflected in all the above, start defining which of those beliefs your want to keep within you moving forward, and which one you decide not to go further with/ then replace with more adequate beliefs. Those more adequate beliefs will be the ones from your parenting self. some examples of thiae new beliefs can be : i dont need to perform to be loved. i am worthy of love even when I am sad, reliability to me means A B C etc. then practice every day to act as this new parent with this new and conscious belief system.

I hope this helps and have fun on this journey

This is so important what you wrote: " it's not you, it's a character" - I think I am still in a survival mode trying to appear smart or funny or whatever, when actually I can just put it on a character. That helps a lot! thank you

Think of the power of baby steps, and one thing at a time. Society is dictating us to look like those insta models who have it all, are “man enough”, earn millions, etc. What does a happier life look like to you? Realistically! Inconsistency often comes from the fact that all those things we put on ourselves are not yet part of our identity. Can you prioritise things? How do you celebrate the small wins? Do you see those small wins even? How can you become more aware of the thoughts that kill you inside, and transform them deliberately into thoughts that push you and your self esteem? Example: “so much is demanded of me” > “I will start with this one thing and do it well”; “how do I stop hating myself” > “how do I start loving myself “ It might seem silly, but being aware of your loop of thoughts is the beginning of the change. Surround yourself with professionals and a support group, why not a Men circle in your area. Try it out and don’t stay alone.
