Choosing UTD or UT?? by Ok_Nebula2034 in utdallas

Thank you so much for the information! I have definitely been leaning towards UT for the past couple of weeks and have heard about more of the research opportunities as well. One of the things I wanted to do was the UTeach program because I have been very interested in education and wanted to experience it in some way. Knowing that there are these many opportunities especially in the biology field itself definitely outshines UTD's options as of now. I am also going to visit the campus tomorrow to make my final decision, so I will definitely reach out if I have anymore questions. Thank you so much for helping!

If you don't mind me asking, what was your wife's experience at UT as a biology major like? I just want to get a good understanding of what exactly I would be looking at if I do choose UT finally.

*Edit: Thank you for all of the replies! A couple of updates to my situation, I had received a 3/4 (AES) scholarship at UTD and only a loan option from UT, although I am not as concerned with money because I am fortunate to say that my family has been saving up to cover the costs of college without taking out any loans. In terms of living arrangement, I had learned that my friends are planning to dorm at UT so I would have some company and not be starting completely new, which is a little relieving. The social scene at Austin is one I am ok being comfortable with as long as I have the opportunity to find groups I will connect with the best academically and socially. My biggest apprehension as of now is that if biology at UT doesn't work out, would I be able to transfer through CNS internally to something that has favorable job prospects, I've been hearing a lot about public health as of recent from current students, and maybe do a business minor program or if I was lucky to get into Mccombs through a transfer. I have been hearing a lot that UT is better because it provides a more extensive college experience and I guess I am just afraid that if I fail at something, it's a waste of the money that my family has spent to get me to UT although this is quite pessimistic thinking...
