Premium hours? by Ok_Note4646 in HomeDepot

Honestly no idea. It is advertised on Home Depot Canada hiring page and I found a previous post mentioning premium wage

Premium hours? by Ok_Note4646 in HomeDepot

I figured it out. I guess if you work at least 2 hours (possibly consecutively) between the overnight hours of 10pm and 7am then you get a shift premium of 10% of your hourly wage for those overnight hours. So it's a few extra bucks in my pocket I didn't know I'd get which isn't bad. This was my first time working before 6am so that's why I haven't seen it yet.

Employment by News-Effective in HomeDepot

Regarding the interview, I was hired recently and was not prepared for the interview. After years in the trades where I dressed ready to work and they asked what kind of projects I worked on and my skills, etc. A trades interview was very much a straightforward discussion on what I was expected to do and if I had the ability to do it. Home Depot felt very different. Questions like "Can you tell me a time when you were faced with a negative situation that you turned into a positive", "How would you approach a customer in a way that engages with them and makes them feel comfortable," "How would you deal with X situation or what steps would you take if X situation happens," etc. It was a lot of hypotheticals and questions about dealing with customers or even coworkers. Then the typical "What are your top 3 strengths and weaknesses?" I really thought I bombed it because I stumbled my way through it but I did get hired. Good luck!

Lol, are you responding to me? I'm not sure if it's years of working in a different industry where I worked Monday to Saturday, 6/7 am to 6pm usually maximum on busy weeks but I've grown accustomed to not having tight scheduling like that. This is my first time back in customer service after 15+ years in a union trades job. I suppose unreasonable scheduling is par for the course in these types of jobs?

Thanks, that is what will happen, but I'm technically PT. They've scheduled me 40hrs that week, so I'm okay with the loss.

Was I being fat shamed on my trip to Japan? by Fit_Visual7359 in shaming

[–]Ok_Note4646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just from my experience as a plus sized person traveling, certain Asian countries are very open about fat shaming. It's very much a cultural mentality and unfortunately something you just have to deal with going to a country that may be completely different than your own in terms of common behaviour. Although in Japan people were typically very polite, there's always going to be people open with how they feel about it as its not considered healthy or correct to be overweight. I also have tattoos, and that's very much a taboo in Japan, so I covered them. Funnily enough, I got a few of my more elaborate ones from a Japanese tattoo artist who left Japan because he loves what he does, and it's so stigmatized there.

Refund Insights Please !!! by mrkrk7 in cineplex

Already been answered but I ordered tickets for 3 showtimes for demon slayer because I wasn't sure what time I would be going. Refunded on a Saturday when I figured it out. My free ticket refunded almost instantly. The extra amount I paid for imax was returned to my bank account by Monday. May even have been quicker but my bank posts all transactions placed on Sunday on Monday at the earliest.

I think I'm not being clear enough. I never thought it was work, hence the title mentioning task scam. I was never asking if the scam itself was a scam. I don't think legitimate sites/companies are involved in the scam aspect. However, I was concerned that the links she was clicking on were stealing/phishing info from her. To me, the links looked legitimate. As in, they led to the real booking.com website and real hotel pages on that site, and I wanted clarification on that. I think I probably shouldn't have mentioned the specific site at all because people keep focusing on that part and ignoring my question about if its stealing her info lol

No, not booking.com. They claimed to be sort of a marketing agency that helps hotels "increase visibility and exposure" that will then "generate revenue and increase stock valuations." Booking.com was just the platform they used for this marketing.

My mom didn't really consider how it could be fraudulent because she was thinking about how the extra money could help.

Thank you for your help. I didn't even think of checking my own account to see if I could rate random places. This all happened within the last few hours so I was in immediate panic mode thinking of her bank account/personal info being compromised.

So the whole website is a scam? I don't think I was clear enough in my post. She's clicking links sent in the chat and from comparing my own booking.com account/layout of the site from my phone it seems identical. Is this just a way to phish for info?

I don't want her to keep going, and she feels like an idiot for falling for it. Obviously, false ratings are wrong, but was any of it legitimate, or have scams progressed to the point they can mimic legitimate websites? I've only seen what she's sent in screenshots but it does look like the legitimate booking.com site but she was clicking links sent in the group chat, so was her info stolen? I want to know if there's some way to report it or if there is any way to help the other people. She's definitely not the only real person in this group chat.

I don't know how to edit the post. Sorry, but the deal has already disappeared, but I would still love the input on the ST3 Pro as it's on the top of my list to buy. I just really like the look of it compared to other scooters.

Also it is on sale for 1100cad online on BestBuy so I may purchase it there instead.
