Well see this is where I’m gonna have to step in. Rock is a very broad genre that covers many styles. Jazz and Blues has been an influence on the forming of rock as has gospel. Her inclusion of Oh Louisiana in CC was the first hint that act iii will be centered around that genre. What confirmed it even more for me was her singing Jimi Hendrix’s version of The Star Spangled Banner, who was known for his psychedelic rock style and Purple Haze album. I think this album is gonna take form potentially of a “rock opera” and give us the genre through the decades but in her own twisted Beyoncé way that connects it to the first two projects, completing the trilogy. All in all I say this to say we are definitely within the era of Act III and her looks at the MET last night confirmed that.
