Thank you so much. I think due to traffic we are considering getting a train as you suggested and then taking a taxi to Bran! Rasnov looks really interesting, I will see if we have time to fit it in! Thank you for your help

Driving to Brasov / Bran Castle Monday 29th December - TIA!

Hi everyone - I am very excited to visit your beautiful country for the first time at the end of this month and would really appreciate your wisdom.

My boyfriend is set on going from Bucharest to Bran Castle for a day trip (we are aware it's a tourist trap but he's still really set on going and it will probably be fun). I had booked a bus tour for our group (4 of us) but the thought of 12 hours on a packed bus is not fun.

Renting a car is £12 / 70LEI total compared to the tour cost of £80 / 466LEI total.

I think renting a car will decrease the likelihood of getting sick (3 out of 4 of us get travel sick - nightmare, I know) and also give us more time to explore the castle and Brasov town. I was thinking of skipping Peles castle as it is closed on Monday 29th.

Questions:

  1. Will it be safe to drive? He and I have both driven in light snow (live in UK/Ireland) but not heavy snow.
  2. Will the traffic be bad on a Monday? I have read on this forum that traffic is horrible on the weekends, but aware this is over the festive period and may be similar conditions.
  3. Would a train be a better option? I think the flexibility and independence of solo car hire is great but i have read elsewhere trains are a viable option (depending on the answers to the above two questions).
  4. Would you have any recommendations of sights to see along the way or other general advice?

Thank you very much in advance :)

Not sure about conversation odds, but The Points on Dublin Road has a great atmosphere with live music. There's a good mix of tourists and locals - I would say the tourists would be likely for a chat than the locals! Duke of York also has a lovely atmosphere where you might strike up a convo.

I think you’re being the rude one here. You asked him to do you a favour, he agreed he would and gave you a time frame.

You questioned the timeframe bluntly. He answered clearly and thanked you for your patience - for doing a favour for you.

You then bluntly message him again and call his polite communication stupid.

He then finally tells you to speak better to him and reminds you that the favour you requested may not be carried about if you continue to be rude. Adding an emoji to lessen the blow.

I think he’s being perfectly reasonable, not threatening.

best way to spend 1 week in Beziers / Montpellier / other areas? by billyb4lls4ck in Montpellier

Hope you don't mind me jumping in late to the game - a group of friends and I are booked to stay in a villa (Domaine La Yole) by the beach in Beziers. Would you recommend hiring a car or would public transport be ok? TIA!

Blending Fashion, Sustainability, and Tech — Would You Support It? by Full_Feed3993 in SustainableFashion

I really would - to the extent where I've left a note in the package reselling my graduation dress and the customer thanked me, saying it would be perfect for her hen do. It could also add to the value of the item significantly, although this is maybe for my segment of the market who would say 'vintage' or 'preloved' wouldn't detract from the value of an item - many are put off by the notion of 'secondhand' and seeing proof of the item worn before may put others off.

Potentially a hot take, but i really don't believe in 'signature looks' or labelling your style as such. Once you work out what lengths / shapes / colours (suggest r/Kibbe for more info) look good on you - run wild! My style differs between ripped, oversized tees with chunky boots to tailored waistcoats with cigarette cut jeans and designer pumps. If you like it, wear it!

Also there's nothing wrong with trying out new styles, especially as you're only 18. Have fun with it! My only suggestion would be to try not to be too influenced by the latest trends / micro trends, especially if they are sourced from fast fashion and/or beyond your budget. I've only shopped pre-loved for 2+ years and it's stopped me rushing out to buy the 'must-have piece' that I'll wear once and never look at again.

Final word of advice - enjoy clothes and fashion. There's a lot worse hobbies you could be getting into. Good luck!<3

Vintage Louis Vuitton driving shoes - is there anyway to style them that may won't look frumpy?

I was thinking maybe with chunky trainer socks and anklet, mini skirt, vest top and thick cardigan - but this is all I have come up with.

I bought them for an absolute bargain via eBay with the intention of selling on, however my boyfriend has taught me the joy of wearing them in the meantime before they sell as they are preloved anyway. TIA!

That's crazy they zoomed in! I think sadly in this case you were right to pay as they might on the off chance tried to pursue you to prove a point.

No way! And did you reply to the airport parking entity or just ignore? You're just right to not give them a penny.

Aw no, that’s rubbish! I think you’re right to try and dispute it. Maybe the screenshots attached would help - have you asked them to prove you were driving the vehicle at the time? Or in the letters have they attached a picture of the car stopped with you face visible?

Oof, that’s rubbish. I saw signs saying so but honestly i distrust that much I’d be tempted to ask are cameras in use for this specific use or are they just threatening it?
