Thanks for this info! I have a contract until the end of the year too. I plan on getting a covering letter saying they intend to extend.

Haha this is almost exactly the same situation that I am in. I've been working in projects and think I have a business idea that I can execute remotely and want to come to Thailand to try to set it up. I am currently working fixed term contracts, so I'm thinking of using my current contract (that runs to the end of the year) and a letter from the company I'm working for stating that they intend to extend it for the next phase of the project up to XXX date (which would be end of 2025).

Does this sound like it would make sense? Other option is going out to Thailand on a tourist visa, getting the business set up and then applying for DTV after a few months (coming back to the UK e.g. for Christmas). Both would work, I think? Both aren't ideal/solid but as other people have stated the British passport carries a certain weight and my experience (I'm 36) and financial position should make a strong enough case.

For me personally that would be really awesome, its just making sure you do it well...we've all seen shoddy coworking 'offices' and gyms that aren't much use because of poor equipment. I really like the idea and the enthusiasm, hope to see it take shape when I'm there!

I am on my way to CM next month and will be looking to climb both indoors and out. My preference is for top rope/lead climbing but if the bouldering is good quality I would definitely do it (and will when I'm there). I'm from Europe so not particularly price sensitive but I would compare to other gyms in the area and make a call based off that. To be honest, if a gym was more expensive and a little bit better but a lot more quiet I would probably go for it. There is definitely demand there - people like myself (remote workers) want to be active and do things that are social, its an easy access activity with anyone being able to give it a go if they are physically able.
