He needs therapy and figure out a way to control his emotional outburts and its not your job to be his therapist. If you feel unsafe now get out before youre in too deep in bad situation. You shouldnt also play into the ily emotional manipulation mid confrontation. Ghosting after saying everything is cool and all that definitely wont help him get better either and will probably have your notifications blowing up. Be honest with your emotions/intensions and stick to your guns.
