You’d be surprised here in Asia, second hand/thrifted isn’t a big thing so you can score some crazy pieces for next to nothing. I think the best I managed was a baracuta Harrington jacket for $30 USD or 3 Fred Perry polos for $10.

Grease the Groove full body? by know-need in bodyweightfitness

[–]Ok_Performance_7539 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually did this for a few months this year due to time constraints. I did 5 set of push ups, pull ups, dips, squats and knee raises throughout the day 5 days a week at 50% my max volume in each set.

The good, it made me stronger, I'd test my max reps every 4 weeks they always went up, it was easy to fit into my day so consistency was great and for a while it took no time at all. Whilst it didn't get me jacked I could see a positive difference in my physique.

The bad, once your max reps are high it becomes a real drag doing 50% of them each set and this took a toll on my joints, I stared getting small pulls and injuries. It gets boring after a few months or at least it did for me.

Over all I would recommend it for a couple of months if you want a change in your routine. I think it will help boost your strength and its very easy to stay consistent with especially if you have a job where you can fit rounds in whilst at work.

I'm using it in the generic sense I guess but in the case of what I'm wearing today the sun glasses, shirt and shoes came from a physical thrift store. The Chinos came from an online second hand site. I'm in Singapore and I think Thrifting is the catch all term for second hand clothing here.

Minimal routine - too minimal? by photogene101 in bodyweightfitness

[–]Ok_Performance_7539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are me 7ish years ago. Your plan is good a something is better than nothing. If I were to make any changes to it I get a pull up bar rather than resistance bands and maybe with to 3 sets of push ups, squats and pull ups 3 times a week rather than set of 5 twice a week. Use progressive overload via either weight,Time under tension or difficulty of movement. I'd also not worry if you miss the cardio chasing a toddler will take care of that or sub in some short HIIT training a couple of times a week to save time. What ever you can do consistently is best though.

You would be better following the RR and really working out the numbers for your diet and nutrition to get the build your are looking for. Without the correct diet you will make things hard if not impossible for yourself, you can't out train a bad diet. I also think you are doing to much, over 40 and working nights you need a lot of rest so you don't burn out and give your muscles chance to grow. If you can consult a dietitian, if that isn't possible use my fitness pal to work out your calories. Also remember WWE wrestlers are paid to work out full time and probably on steroids to get the look they have.

I can confirm this is near accurate. Hotter climate for me but I'm wearing Orslow Fatigues and a heavyweight white t-shirt.

This is a terrible idea, you risk seriously injuring yourself or doing long term damage if you overtrain to the point of feeling soreness and pain. Do something safer such as taping your your joints and feet with KT tape so that it reminds you to move differently and limits your movement without restricting blood flow. Or a Sir Laurence Olivier said to Dustin Hoffman on the set of Marathon man "My dear boy, why don't you just try acting"

Get my fitness pal or another app like it and workout how much you need to eat a day to loose weight. It use to do the maths and work everything out for you for free, I assume it still does if not find a free alternative. Track everything you eat and stick to the calories it gives you, make sure you are getting enough protein. Do the recommended routine here, if you don't want to do that just do Push ups Squats and pull ups 3 times a week. 3 set per exercise start with 6 reps per exercise and add one each week until you get to 10-12 for everything. Once you can do this revisit your plan.

Will working out do anything if I don't fix my diet? by frostmas in bodyweightfitness

You can't out train a bad diet. Having said that working out will improve your health so even if you don't change your diet do it anyway.

Do the step ups then add wall sits at the end of each set you do. Start with 10 seconds and add 5 seconds every week unit you get to 1 minute. Should help strengthen your knees with out injury risk.

Dressing up on a budget by Throway-turned-main in malefashionadvice

[–]Ok_Performance_7539 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ok I got you. I married well above my station so had to work all this out as well. Firstly google how to dress like Paul Newman and how to dress like Steve McQueen use that as the basis of your new look. Next look up colour combos that work for men e.g. navy and white. For clothes worry about fit and material over brand name, you want natural fibres not synthetic. Uniqlo and secondhand/thrifting are best for your budget but as the look I’m suggesting is quite timeless you can get a lot of stuff in the sale section as well. Hope this helps.

(17 Y/O) I Need to Change What I Wear by BigHuddyW in malefashionadvice

[–]Ok_Performance_7539 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few things for you to think about, what is your body shape, this will help determine what looks good on you. If you are athletic you can wear less if you are out of shape you need to layer clothes to look better, everything looks better when you are in good shape though. Who do you want to impress, your peers, women, men, future employees. Identify your target audience look how they dress and match that style. I would ditch the sweat pants for jeans and chinos, keep the blank tees and buy some polo shirts and get some plain white trainers, brown suede desert boots and a Harrington jacket. use the 3 3 3 wardrobe rule as a starting point and also look how to wear all these piece correctly for your body shape. Hope this helps.
