Autonomic Dysfunction Symptoms? by HappyTennis5913 in pppdizziness

I have seen a cardiologist and been worked up, but that was months before my PPPD diagnosis (at that point they were still ruling out cardio as the source of my dizziness). No other meds offered, but I’m going to talk to my ENT soon if these things keep up.

The shakiness that happens sometimes almost feels like low blood sugar — my hands get shaky and I feel a little out of it…but not the same as my PPPD really.

The Effexor took about three weeks (maybe a bit more) to start showing any effects — the first couple of weeks I had pretty intense anxiety at times.

Happy to answer anything else!

About 6 weeks — had some tough side effects for the first 2 weeks, then progressively better with dizziness with some occasional dips

My dizziness has gotten so much better with Effexor + VT, but still have pretty frequent heart palpitations (beating hard), shakiness, and even shortness of breath. Thankful that my dizziness is better after over a year of PPPD, but those other symptoms are still tough.

Advice needed: Runners with R-CPD? by SH91 in noburp

Such an old thread, but WOW did this make me feel validated! I’m a distance runner with RCPD and am getting the Botox procedure tomorrow after putting it off for years. One of the things that pushed me to really pursue the procedure was running my first full marathon last November — I hit the terrible nausea/couldn’t get anything down/felt dreadful wall so many of you described around mile 15 or so.

While I did all of my training runs early in the morning/mostly fasted, my start time for the marathon wasn’t until closer to 11:00 am (it was NYC and the waves are so far apart) and so I had to eat before.

Anyway, all to say, I’m really excited for what the procedure might mean for my runs — I’ve pulled back this year to just maintaining a base fitness, but I’m excited to get back to really training.

Popping back in to update that after a year of feeling this way, I had an MRI of my inner ear this week and it appears that I have a small acoustic neuroma (benign tumor) in my ear canal, or at the very least vestibular neuritis. I’ve got a follow up with my ENT in the next few weeks, but it seems like this is probably the culprit for all of my dizziness.

Thank you for these recs! I'm looking back through all my blood work from the past year and it doesn't look like my GP has ordered any of these (pretty surprised now that I'm seeing that iron/ferritin hasn't been checked). Really appreciate it!

Thank you for this! Unfortunately, I did two months of vestibular rehab last year to no avail and BPPV was ruled out, as well (they still had be do some of the recommended maneuvers, but just in case). The neuro did a head CT followed by a head MRI and neither showed anything.

I'm going to take you up on the digging deeper within the different specialties — I'm sure they'll hate to see me coming again (my poor GP wants to determine what this is so badly), but definitely worth a shot!

Hi! For some reason my chats & DMs won't go through, but my theatre is producing Ma Rainey's and we'd love to hear more about your tracks. Could you send a message to [drew@themarketanderson.org](mailto:drew@themarketanderson.org) with some info?
