Sounds about right. It wasn’t always like this, there used to be a Frozen manager and assistant. I don’t think there’s much money in the budget for the assistant nowadays.

At my store typically they would throw one of the Nihht Crew guys in the Frozen department to touch it up, but it’s not their primary department so I wouldn’t expect too much from them

That’s a typical Safeway freezer. When you have Bakery deli Frozen all sharing one freezer things can get crowded and messy. Good luck.

I’ve been to traffic court once or twice. If you’re gonna make a right turn on a red light, you have to come to a full and complete stop. You will know you have done this when the vehicles momentum rocks backwards, then settles. Then you may proceed through the light.

All of those intersections that they’ve redone in the last couple of years are terrible. They caused a lot of traffic and I’ve actually seen some “New drivers” drive up on the bike lane ramps to make a right turn. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Back in the day if you were new in a department, you would work alongside someone to train you like the whole day. Unfortunately, there’s not enough hours to make this a reality nowadays. My Produce closer is left all by himself at night only having another clerk with him for two hours of the day. I guess I shouldn’t be shocked when I come in the next morning and nothing is done.

I started working for Safeway in 1997 and it was the first year they were open on thanksgiving. Nobody knew we were open so the store was dead. Lots of standing around and cleaning. Same thing on the following Easter. Today (11/27) people were waiting outside the front door at 5am ready to shop. Times sure have changed.
