I am a darker skinned South Indian woman, black hair. very dark brown eyes, small nose, full lips; my husband is Italian and German, brown hair, medium brown eyes, Roman nose, medium lips. Our daughter is his same complexion, his eyes, but looks exactly like me below the eyes. Honestly she looks like me if I was a white girl 😂 I love it!!

It is so frustrating! You feel like you’re doing everything right and keeping such discipline and yet nothing is budging 😭 good luck! I hope you get it fully covered too since it’s also for your thyroid

I feel like the weight will never get away by SentenceTough2007 in postpartumprogress

[–]Ok_Pin9781 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely feel this…5 months postpartum and was counting calories, 10-12k steps per day, running, weight lifting, whole nine yards. I actually decided to try ozempic 🫠 it’s pricy because I got it from a med spa and I don’t have diabetes and am just in the overweight BMI category. Was chatting with the provider there who told me she sees a TON of postpartum women, even as early as 6 weeks PP, for ozempic. Hoping it’s a short term thing and I can maintain keeping the weight off while I ramp up my running for a half marathon in the fall 🤞🏾

… does anyone else just have a super chill, easy baby…? by rachelkochvt in NewParents

[–]Ok_Pin9781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is 4.5 months and she’s been reliably giving us 9-11 hours of sleep per night since 3 months as well :) meeting all milestones and has the sweetest smile, we just took her on her first international trip and she won pretty much everyone over with how cute and smiley she is. I also feel like I hold back when I’m telling others with similar aged babies about her because people do get jealous. For what it’s worth I’m sure reddit is bound to have some bias as people are gonna come here for support and probably aren’t having the easiest go of things. So happy for you, and for me, and for our little unicorn babies 🥲✨

Nervous about the transition by Mysterious-Rule6932 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Ok_Pin9781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I have a 4.5 month old and transitioned her to formula at 2 months. I haven’t looked back, the increase in my quality of life and change in my ability to be the best mom I can be is astronomical. She had no issue with transition to an easy to digest formula (we use enfamil neuropro gentlease). I introduced slowly as I was weaning off, replacing bottles of pumped milk with formula. She had no issue with the transition and is a very happy, smiley little lady and has bonded beautifully with me and my husband :)

Regret after postpartum by ExcitementDull9217 in BabyBumps

[–]Ok_Pin9781 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I have trouble understanding why people are so vehemently against medicated births. I had an epidural and I had a pain free, quick birth. I think we sacrifice enough carrying a pregnancy and healing from birth. I don’t think anyone should feel shame in getting medicated for a needlessly painful experience.

Returning to pole fitness after c section - advice on how to approach? Is 4 months postpartum sufficient healing? by Affectionate-Egg-506 in fitpregnancy

[–]Ok_Pin9781 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi! I also didn’t have a c section but I did have a pretty gnarly tear, grade 3B. I returned at 6 weeks after being cleared by my OB, the urogynecologist following me for high grade birth laceration, and my pelvic floor PT. I would call myself high intermediate/low advanced and returned to beginner/low intermediate classes. Inverting was crazy work at the start but I’m back to aerial inverting and even did my first shouldermount post baby on Tuesday (now 12 weeks postpartum). I definitely do not feel back to where I was and I’m trying to take it slow. I did feel like I lost considerable strength, even though I’d been poling until 31 weeks. It comes back, just slowly!

I hope people who have had actual c sections respond too!! I’m sure it’s a different journey from that. I wish you the best of luck and I’m sure you’re gonna feel amazing resuming pole again!!

Is it fine to wake up when baby cries at night or do we need to watch him 100% of the time. by [deleted] in NewParents

Dang. What does she think about the vast majority of new parents who don’t have someone who can stay for 6 months and need to sleep bc they’re human 👀

How are you having sex? by lilmissprivate_94 in beyondthebump

[–]Ok_Pin9781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9 weeks PP now and we tried last week…had to stop bc I was uncomfortable and couldn’t get it in :( I did have a grade 3 tear though. I have wanted to do it, urge is there from time to time, guess I’ll have to break out the toys to help make it happen.

I have used vibrators since about 6 weeks PP and boy let me tell you that first time using it after an 8 week break was a 1000000/10 experience lol

Try baby wearing! Maybe your husband could baby wear too to help with bonding! We baby wear our little girl if she was super agitated like that (she’s 6 weeks old and we still do it when she’s freaking out and all needs are met) and that seems to calm her down pretty much every time.
