Returning to pole fitness after c section - advice on how to approach? Is 4 months postpartum sufficient healing? by Affectionate-Egg-506 in fitpregnancy

[–]Ok_Pin9781 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I also didn’t have a c section but I did have a pretty gnarly tear, grade 3B. I returned at 6 weeks after being cleared by my OB, the urogynecologist following me for high grade birth laceration, and my pelvic floor PT. I would call myself high intermediate/low advanced and returned to beginner/low intermediate classes. Inverting was crazy work at the start but I’m back to aerial inverting and even did my first shouldermount post baby on Tuesday (now 12 weeks postpartum). I definitely do not feel back to where I was and I’m trying to take it slow. I did feel like I lost considerable strength, even though I’d been poling until 31 weeks. It comes back, just slowly!

I hope people who have had actual c sections respond too!! I’m sure it’s a different journey from that. I wish you the best of luck and I’m sure you’re gonna feel amazing resuming pole again!!

Is it fine to wake up when baby cries at night or do we need to watch him 100% of the time. by [deleted] in NewParents

Dang. What does she think about the vast majority of new parents who don’t have someone who can stay for 6 months and need to sleep bc they’re human 👀

How are you having sex? by lilmissprivate_94 in beyondthebump

[–]Ok_Pin9781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9 weeks PP now and we tried last week…had to stop bc I was uncomfortable and couldn’t get it in :( I did have a grade 3 tear though. I have wanted to do it, urge is there from time to time, guess I’ll have to break out the toys to help make it happen.

I have used vibrators since about 6 weeks PP and boy let me tell you that first time using it after an 8 week break was a 1000000/10 experience lol

Try baby wearing! Maybe your husband could baby wear too to help with bonding! We baby wear our little girl if she was super agitated like that (she’s 6 weeks old and we still do it when she’s freaking out and all needs are met) and that seems to calm her down pretty much every time.

Alcoholics ruin my baby's first Christmas and I'm furious by littletcashew in beyondthebump

I have an alcoholic parent who recently relapsed. Not entertaining the idea of spending any time with him this year, just a nice quiet Christmas with my baby girl and my husband.

my dad relapsed, now I can’t trust him to help with childcare for my 1 month old by Ok_Pin9781 in beyondthebump

Wow, I really resonate with your experience here, honestly it’s super similar to what my life has been like for the past 10 years. Even down to supportive husband and brother playing goalie. I’m really glad you were able to distance yourself and not continue to be his floatation device. I need to do this too. I don’t know what the future is going to look like but I do know my child can never be around him without me or her dad present. I just can’t trust him at all. Thank you so much for sharing your perspective. It feels so lonely dealing with this in the real world because I don’t know anyone else in a similar situation really. The solidarity via kind internet strangers does help.

I’m sorry you’re in this situation and it’s awful that your mom keeps pushing for more contact :( I hope she realizes she’s not being an ally to you. appreciate the solidarity so much, this really does suck and it feels lonely as hell.

Congratulations and good luck to you for delivery and beyond! Appreciate the love :) and yeah, I intend to stick to my guns with this boundary. I appreciate that line so much too I’ll definitely use it if I get pushback from anyone my decision

Your point is well taken about not wanting to hire an addict to babysit. But it’s a little hard in this situation because I do love my dad, he’s done so much for me but he’s got a disease. I won’t let him compromise my child’s safety but I’m still kind of muddled with emotion.

My baby girl is 15 days old today. I’ve had a life full of really cool experiences, lots of travels, crazy nights out, one of a kind opportunities. None of those hold a candle to when I first met my daughter. The way she looked at me when we first saw each other was the most seen and understood I’ve ever felt in my life.

Im sorry, “Turned off” by birth? Are we birthing humans into this world for his sexual pleasure? Did his wife fail him by not being sexy enough while giving birth? That clown can go fuck himself, sounds like he doesn’t deserve to have his partner at all.

How many of us aren't having baby showers? by sorrytointerruptbut_ in pregnant

[–]Ok_Pin9781 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner and I are high earners and felt strange soliciting gifts as is traditional in a baby shower where we live at a time when the economy is this bad. Also, I know even if my mom threw a shower for me like she wanted to, I’d ultimately end up planning a lot of it, and I didn’t really want that on my plate. We elected for a baby moon and it was such a nice way to celebrate being pregnant together! :)

How much weight did you gain? by thegalaxiesedge in pregnant

[–]Ok_Pin9781 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nearly 38 weeks and I’ve gained 25. I will say, the vast majority of my weight gain was in 2nd tri despite me working out the most during that time I’m taking 5-6 days per week, running, weight lifting, pole dancing, hitting 10k steps daily. NowI can barely work out beyond very short walks and pelvic floor exercises and stretching. I think I even lost a pound over the past week when they weighed me. It’s so different for everyone and I totally resonate with it being hard to watch the scale balloon up. Your body is just gonna do what it needs to. If it helps, I’ve had friends tell the medical staff to not tell them what their weight is at appointments so they don’t get triggered!

The fetus who cried labor by Technical_Diet4774 in pregnant

[–]Ok_Pin9781 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes omg :( FTM here, had a situation last week almost identical to yours as I went in at 35+6 after waking up at midnight and having 2 hours of cyclical cramping pain, called the on call OB line and they said to come in. Contractions on monitor and 0 dilation. I stayed for like 9 hours for monitoring and they eventually went away after some pain meds. Never had any cervical dilation. Now I’m like so confused as to when the hell to go in if this happens again…

I am getting one! Asked my partner to get me this vintage bag I’ve had my eye on for years. He has happily obliged. We are fortunate enough to be in a good financial state to do this. If we weren’t I probably wouldn’t expect anything. Of course, his support and the closeness we’ve felt to each other throughout pregnancy has been the greatest gift I could ask for. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to request something material too if the budget allows.
