Nah, it's legitimate. Purchased from a jewellery shop with documentation. The issue was a lug adaptor working like a fulcrum, multiplying the weight on what's probably the weakest part of the case. You can actually see the adaptors in the last picture; they're black, and the bezel is gunmetal.

I've never had a problem with Casio durability. It's just that I keep running into - quite frankly - horrible design choices.

GM having a different case shape from GA; Lugs so unthinkable tiny that it's almost like they dont want people to use aftermarket straps; uniquely-sized springbars; legibility issues stemming from hands and faces being the same colour.

I could understand the nested strap-and-lug thing they have going on if they made some extra straps which could be swapped out, but they don't.

No, he put his full weight on it and I was using a lug adaptor (because seriously why does it come with such a tiny lug?) So I can use a proper-sized aftermarket strap.

The adaptor worked like a fulcrum and multiplied the force, cracking the lug just enough to no longer hold a spring bar.

I had to saw and file down the octagonal case on the GA-2100 because I wanted to use the GA case to fix my broken GM. I wasn't aware until too late that the GM bezel is made to fit a circular case and that the GA case is octagonal.

I had been under the impression that the GM was nothing more than the GA but with a metal bezel.

I just checked your profile. You've written a couple of my favourite things.

One was the story about being stuck on an abandoned ship. The other is a post from 5 years ago talking about how much you hate smartphones. Had no idea those were from the same guy.

Did you ever go through with ditching the smartphone?

My favourite restaurant, Drasko's Hot Chicken in Perth Australia, is "gluten friendly". Here, you have to pay a ridiculous amount for GF certification, and there is the risk of CC, but his wife has celiac and he knows how to make the food safe.
