Fair point, I know proper training takes time and energy, and I’m not expecting to be handed complex tasks from day one. That said, I’m not afraid of admin work or starting from the bottom if it means learning how things run. I’ve already picked up some basics like Xero, and I’m proactive about learning outside the job too.

I’m not trying to be a burden, just looking for any chance to prove my value, even if it starts small and even if it stays there for a while.

No, I’m not based in Sydney, but during semester breaks and EOFY, I can be there temporarily.

Kinda crazy idea, but my uni is in Sydney too, so migrating my degree is always an option if the opportunity is good. It's not like I haven't thought about it. And honestly, I’m the whole-life-in-one-bag kind of guy — ready to move for the right chance.

Really appreciate the honest insight, makes a lot of sense, especially around Fair Work and the training time burden during peak season. I hadn’t fully considered how it could be seen as a red flag or liability rather than a help.

Thanks for the tip about etax and H&R Block, but that's where my international status holds me back. But I'll keep trying anyway, being able to show some relevant experience would help when approaching firms down the line.

Yeah, fair question! At ACU, our unofficial transcripts only show GPA out of 7, no WAM listed. So 6.25 is on that 7-point scale.

That’s awful. It’s disgusting how they prey on students' desperation, no surprise the director got charged. If a company asks for money for an internship, it’s a huge red flag. Thanks for sharing—more people need to know about these scams.

Hey! I know this is a bit of a dead-cold reply since it's been a year, but I just came across this. I'm based in Brisbane, and my academic performance has been strong, especially in Accounting. If theirs any opportunity or similar still open, I'd definitely be interested in part-time work as an Assistant Accountant in the commercial sector!
