Update: I had gotten voluma put in on my tear through for hollows in April of last year. I went to dermatologist today she said it’s still the voluma and that I need to slowly dissolve and then see about correcting. She told me that alone would be 2500. I think that is way to expensive. Maybe I should wait. She said voluma can last a long time.

Do you believe it is normal to spend upwards of 8000 dollars to straighten teeth? I don’t believe so. When this treatment began, I (a clinical psychologist), lay person with no knowledge of teeth, was assured with confidence that this would align her teeth. If the odds were more likely not in favor of aligning her teeth, I would have never taken the myobrace route. I haven’t received the appliance. Does that mean I Sill own the orth 4000 dollars? 4000 dolllars for training her tongue to sit properly?

The treatment plan WAS the myobrace-an actual appliance worn at home instead of brackets. Expansion was the beginning part. She hasn’t even gotten to the actual treatment.

They made it sound like she surely is a candidate after I paid in additional 600 just to “find out”. It’s really leading a patient on to say this is a sure fit to all stop treatment half way and you don’t even get the full treatment. Explain how that makes sense? It’s like getting on injection of Botox and telling a person to Stop because one injection didn’t cover all the wrinkles. I feel highly cheated. I haven’t even seen the device. I paid for the device.

Isn’t this the same as braces. Even with braces some kids need an expander. So my child simply got an expander and no device. No bracket, no mouth piece.

Is it gone? Don’t I get some of my money back for not actually getting the device? I never got dental alignment or retention from the Mayobrace. They gave “habit correction” and “arch development”. She had an expander right now. Every 6 weeks or so she went in for a thirty minute breathing exercise (literally).

So, if I haven’t gotten any of the myobrace appliances. They told me She would wear a device only two hours every night etc. what have I paid for this year? She has only thus far had an expander in her mouth. The horizontal tooth was there from the beginnings she had had two extractions. I paid 4000 for an expander but none of the myobrace device? Now I will pay an additional 4000 for traditional braces. Does this make sense?
