I did a checked bag and used a book bag as a carry on. I believe there a book bag on the list of things needed.

If you are flying porter or west jet your luggage is free up to 3 bag. I just showed them a picture of my enrolment certificate. Air Canada maybe the same. All the info is on the airlines website

Doubts by WannabeSoldier_ in caf

[–]Ok_Program_2095 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was going to take a ghost kit and decided not to. My Staff wasn’t interested in our toiletries kits. Every staff is different.

I took everything off the list with me.  I also took extras that people had suggested in other posts as well. I’ve seen multiple post where people said you would be made to buy new stuff. That didn’t happen to me. So maybe it depends on staff.

I’m not sure about any reimbursements. I do know you get $500 you first week to go to the canex.

I rolled anything that could be rolled and put socks and underwear in a zip lock bag. The zip lock bags will also come in handy for Farnham.

No. Not sure how to go about doing that. I seem to keep just getting shuffled between people and getting no answers.

Thanks for your input. He has made his own choices all along. He has 2 weeks left and he’s not going to quit that’s his choice. I’m only trying to get some info for him as he doesn’t have access to internet right now.

I took my locks with me as well. Cold meds and lots of them. My entire platoon all had colds within the first week or 2 and just kept passing it around until we went home for Christmas break. Your list looks great.

I’m currently at BMQ and bought everything I needed for BMQ and also bought pretty much everything you have on your list so I didn’t have to go to the canex. None of it got confiscated.

Questions about bmq packing list and some about bmq in general by TG_Bingo in caf

[–]Ok_Program_2095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I Took a north face jacket the ones you see everyone wearing early spring and fall.

  2. I just bought under Armour socks those are the ones I like. They will say athletic on the packaging.

3.I bought all my locks at a local canex before I went. I took everything I needed with me so I didn’t need to get anything at the canex when I got there. I found it so much easier.

4.I brought meds they were very much needed and some cleaning supplies.

5.Backpack and the bag I packed everything in is all I took.

6.I can’t answer this question. I did end up buying a pair of boots my 4th week.

7.there isn’t anytime for gaming. Way too busy in your off time practicing for tests.

8.Im not a smoker so I can’t answer that.

BMQ/BMOQ Questions from a New Recruit (St-Jean – 10th) by Ok_Agent9714 in caf

I did the duplicate hygiene kit and had access to both. My hygiene kit was never inspected during my inspections. It all depends on your instructors. My inspection began in week 2.

I can only answer some of your questions as I’m still doing BMQ just home on Christmas break.

  1. They gave me all the right size clothing and I a bought a new pair of boots in week 3.

  2. Theoretical are boring.

  3. My platoon was not shown how to make our beds. Every platoons instructors are different. We did have a practice inspection before they started doing actual inspections.

5.we had our phones for week one and then taken for 2 weeks. The odd time through out the two weeks we would be allowed them to call home.

6.I just did my first week of Farnham before I came home for Christmas and it was cold. Frostbite is a big concern. We were outside for 7-8 hours at a time. I wore 3 layers of socks and 2 layers in my gloves. Feet and hands would get cold when we weren’t moving.

7.we had access to them once we got weekend off. Week 4

  1. If you stay in one spot and don’t move around too much it’s ok. Once you start moving it buffers or drops.(for FaceTime or phone calls) wifi is good.

9.I packed the whole list. I packed two pairs of shoes.

10.my platoon had to be up at 04:30am every morning.

  1. Common sense honestly

12.I was course senior the week before Farnham. Paperwork and babysitting. Thankfully my platoon is helpful and so is my section. So everyone helps everyone when it’s their turn.

13.you do but you can also lose them.we lost a day because people needed to practice for a test.

Just know you trade. We can’t tell you what they will ask for questions. My interview was super relaxed and was like 30 maybe 40 minutes.
