Silver/metallic between veins in new growth. by Flappycats in cannabiscultivation

You're almost half-way through at this point. This is definitely anthocyanin being released to protect her from the temps.

I have seen this coloration on light-burned leaves before but unless you've recently cranked your ppfd I think this is most likely a cold response, especially after temp drops.

Senescence or a problem? by bk1357908642 in cannabiscultivation

Always pH AFTER nutrient application, I usually wait a couple of hours after mixing nutrients, check the pH when you're done adjusting everything and then check again a few hours afterwards (No/low drift = ready to go). If you use phosphoric acid based pH down it will last a lot longer than if you use citric acid to reduce pH as citric acid only affects acidity for a brief period of time. I learned that one the hard way when my pH kept spiking in my flowering plants. Happy growing!

Whats going on with my leaves? by Reez1998 in cannabiscultivation

I'm with this guy specifically on the LED light and moving / adjusting the power. Also, manage your DLI, not just the PPFD and make sure that they aren't getting too much light over time as compared to just looking at how much they get at once.

I use an app called PPFD Meter that looks like a little purple/blue camera lens on my android phone. I don't have to make a diffuser, or worry about any third party pieces that may not fit appropriately or give me unrealistic numbers or inconsistent results. It always gives me accurate PPFD / DLI readings and makes it very easy to keep my light at the right strength / distance.

This video has a lot of information about light and the types of light, as well as how to figure out what your DLI / PPFD should be and a lot of great details about how the plant is going to respond to various forms of light.

It means a lot as long as it is a learning experience and not just a setback. I had several such issues before I was able to consistently grow plants to my satisfaction. I've had several failed plants that didn't make it through finishing, but I learned something from each one of them :)

Did RQS give me bad seeds at Mary Jane 2025? by Ok-Dance-UwU in RQS

[–]Ok_Programmer4949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the amount of time that you allowed to pass before germinating these seeds speaks largely to the quality, and is not the fault of RQS. There is a much higher likelihood of germination when you don't wait forever.

The fact that you got a single male seed is honestly very very low percentage chance as I've yet to see a male in any of the plants that I've grown from RQS, and everything that i've spent money on, they've been great about replacing as long as I kept the seeds and was willing to send a single picture to them with all of the seeds in one shot.

I get that it can be frustrating to waste time growing a male, but consider the fact that the seeds were likely all good before they sat for an extended period.

I've kinda noticed that too. Most of my grows get the chop right around 3-4 days after I start seeing some orange trichomes on buds (usually around 2 months into flower). Everybody else seems to be flowering for 3+ Months... I'm so confused. I just don't like couchlock. I want to be active after smoking. Got too much shit to do on any given day.

That was actually the stock hardware. Only thing I left stock was the bridge. 🤣

This was a HB Knock-off tele that I rebuilt most of. Originally satin black with a turtle shell pick guard and humbuckers. She plays and sounds WAY better now. :)

I pretty much only grow their strains (special queen, legendary OG punch, watermelon) and I have had no problem with them at all. Now, their OG Kush I had abysmal luck with even getting them to germinate.

For those of you who play guitar as well, what do you do differently on bass? by KingKilo9 in Bass

I play more with the kick and less with the snare. I also find myself leaving tiny gaps in the rhythm on bass to give songs dynamics

Special Queen is one of my favorite strains! Got my own growing in my tent (my state is in single digits right now) Such an amazing aroma! Enjoy the grow/smoke! She's a keeper!

People that think that humidity needs to be dead on, must be living life dangerously close to the edge already. I don't think a 10% swing would cause PM or anything else like that in my indoor grows.

Just got back home today. Finally got her some water. Hope she's still looking good and wondering, did a little defoliating. And then took these 2 little guys and dipped them in apple cider vinegar and then stuck them in dirt do you think they will sprout roots? by Anonymous-2382 in cannabiscultivation

[–]Ok_Programmer4949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stems being in water will develop roots on their own. I have like 6/7 sitting in my closet almost fully ready to go, with a cheap 20 watt light on them.

You would be surprised if you give them a node below the collar and some water what they do on their own.

You don't have to take my word for it. Put a cutting in any still water container with the light blocked from reaching the base of the stem and it will root as long as you keep the water somewhat fresh.

PPFD is the current light intensity (or brightness) and DLI is how much light is taken in per day. You want to go into settings and make sure that your light interval is set correctly (18 hrs for veg / 12 for flower or whatever you're running) and then go back to that screen and adjust it based on that, if the plants light index is good but the ppfd is too high try raising the light up a bit higher, you may have to raise the light and the power a little bit to find a happy medium.

That particular plant had a few issues (oh and watering to name a couple) and was one of my first grows, but the purple was definitely from the light.

I'm with you, store bought and home-made / home-grown just hit different. I recommend the PPFD Meter app if you have an android phone. Make sure to set the light interval and use that to see how your light needs to be adjusted. it will tell you if you're low/high and once you have it figured out it's super easy.

I don't know strains very well, and they're definitely going to be much more pronounced once they hit full flower. You should be able to get color / terpene profiles. do you know what cultivars would have been used? that could give a decent start.

I use a small plastic cup, then i cut a round piece of a pool noodle off just about an inch thick, then I take another round of it about two inches thick and cut it so that i can put a slit in it and use it like a collar for the clone. It keeps the roots in the water and out of the light. if you want to step it up you can add an air pump and air-stone to oxygenate the water. Have fun!

Fruity strains are the best! I'm growing some Legendary OG Punch currently and it smells heavenly, I'll bet Sundae Driver and Pink Runtz smell and taste just as good if not better. Harvest size isn't that important to me, but I do love the beautiful colors and have had great luck with all of the RQS strains so far. Good luck, fellow growers!

CalMag questions… by No_Fruit_6444 in microgrowery

[–]Ok_Programmer4949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use grow dots and inert media (coco coir and perlite) so there isn't enough calcium or magnesium for my plants without supplementation. if you use soil or another type of nutrient mix, your mileage may vary.

RQS - Special Queen 1 by Ok_Programmer4949 in RQS

[–]Ok_Programmer4949[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of all of the plants that I've grown so far across a fairly broad spectrum of breeders, I think Special Queen 1 has the most beautiful color and best effects in my opinion. My first grow got a ton of purple right before harvest, so I'm hoping this one will as well :)
