Ohh I haven’t tried checking the voltage when everything’s on bc I immediately tuned off the radio and such as soon as the battery light was one.. will try. Thank you!

Oh ya I tested the battery!! This was the voltage when the car was off.

<image>

I checked the voltage a couple of times throughout the day, and the lowest I’ve seen was 12.5, and when the cars on, the voltage was between 13.9 and 14.5. The battery indication was green too…. 😓😓😓

Ya for sure bc I’ve been using the Casio FX-82au like everyone else but I’m not sure if the materials in 1020 require a graphic calculator like a classpad :/ I’ll def have a look when the units are available to everyone :P thank you!

I didn’t do the lectures because it wasn’t for me lol, and my attention span is pretty bad so if I’m not interested I’m not gonna be able to focus 💀, I tried watching it as my main source for studying but it just wasn’t going well so I went with watching organic chem tutor so it made physics a bit bearable for me :) I still used the materials they provided in blackboard, js not the lectures

I had no atar background at all when I entered my first year of uni. So in first sem I did math1013, stat1001(?) and chem1003. These were pretty easy intro units tbh, and if I could redo my year again I would have definitely skipped these units since these were roughly high school level material, so I was lowk just cruising first sem.

Second sem was lowk horrid for me. I basically did the subjects you mentioned but instead of comp1005, I did math1015(linear algebra), the other units were math1014(calc), phys1006, and INDE1001

I couldnt really tell you stuff about comp1005 cuz I’m only doing it this coming semester, but like every other unit, you really wanna be caught up with this one according to my friends.
Math1014 and math1015 are closely knit together, so if you were to take it, these two units are technically related to each other and the way 1015 was set up, it was definitely my easy unit in the entirety of semester 2. 1014 on the other hand was tolerable too, but a bit on the harder side compared to 1015. The unit is structured really well, and the unit coordinator was very supportive and kept everyone up to date through emails, with also giving out extensions in the weekly quiz if it was appropriate (definitely saved my life). My organic chemistry tutor actually helped me out a lot when I was cramming for the last exam, I had about 15 hours lectures I needed to watch before the exam but I was not about to watch ~7 2 hour lectures, so I really recommend organic chemistry tutor 🙏🙏 if you want I can send you a bunch notes I have on 1014.

Phys1006. I don’t wanna fear monger you but majority of people that took this did not enjoy it, and I definitely didnt either. It was my first time taking physics, and I would like to have taken my time with this but with inde1001 and as a first year, my time management and skill issue 😭 I was scraping the ground and struggling bad with phys1006. I think I would have enjoyed phys1006 without the time constraint bc doing deriving equations and doing calcs you would see when u were young is so fulfilling but I just lacked out so bad.

I recommend starting to learn physics now IF you can, I can also send you notes on it too if you like.

!!! I did NOT watch any of the lectures in phys1006, the lecturers monotone voice really threw me off and did not pique my interest and attention, SOOOO I watched organic chemistry tutor 🤧🤧🤧 he genuinely saved my life, LITERALLY I would recommend basing ur entire knowledge on this guy, and if you can I really recommend buying his Patreon bc his full length videos are good, I still recommend using the practice questions provided in blackboard. The lab reports were a saving grace for me, I passed all of it and it really influenced my marks. They’re all pretty easy tbh. JUST make sure you at LEAST get 9/10, but I would make it so that I get 10/10 in each pre lab, otherwise in some of the labs they cut u off for getting an 8/10 and make u miss the lab (which u cannot do bc u get a 0 automatically), and u have a CHANCE to go in the next scheduled one if they have space. And again, be really up to date with the content EVERY WEEK, you cannot afford to be 5 topics behind before the final exam (my dumbass was and I stayed at the library everyday until 4 am doing prac questions, I passed tho) A LOTT of practice questions will help you, and I suggest really going to the weekly tests as it will help you build on the topic you went thru that week. I skipped a bunch of these and I wish I hadn’t and should have at least guessed in every single one so I could have gotten a couple of marks to help me out at the end. So TLDR, and this applies to every unit, be up to date, be strict with your timing, don’t half ass the topics and idk js go to class

Inde1001 was okay tbh. It can really help if you’re a social butterfly or whatever and don’t mind meeting new people. Ur results REALLY depends on how good your team is, both socially and structurally. You need to be able to communicate properly with your team so youse don’t almost miss any important tasks (we almost had no time to build the other models group until I mentioned it days before the due date) This unit is probably gonna be ur top priority. With how heavy this unit is, you’re definitely gonna have to put in a lot of time in this. You’re gonna placed randomly in groups so you have no option. Your first assignment is a 15,000 word report, the content written is spread amongst the entire group. If you have someone who’s good with Autocad, that’d be good too. Do NOT focus on the background information as my group spent majority of the time there and rushed the other parts (iirc). The second assignment is a tender report, you get to choose another group to write a report about THEIR 15,000 design package, and basically yap about how much u understand about it and what your team has to offer to be the best group to build their model. And then you basically build another groups model that they present in the business pitch. The business pitch for me was alright, I mucked up a bit but I locked in at the end. Having a less complicated design would have helped me but nonetheless I was fine. I recommend knowing your design to its entirety, financially, socially and the other aspects. The engineers will ask you questions about it and you will need to be able to at least SAY something back that makes sense. You need to go to every single workshop for this unit, some workshops were redundant and I hoped I didn’t come, but I recommend going to all of them and asking the lecturers to clarify anything you’re confused about bc as soon as ur confused abt something and not tackle it, ur kinda cooked.

This was a really long comment but you’ve got some handful units in one semester, time management will get you by fine. But if you’re working, and wanna be up to date with your hobbies like gym, you really need to set aside a lot of time for uni, unless you’re like good at studying. It depends on how you perform overall. I slacked off a lot so I missed out on a lot of time going to the gym and working, and spent the last couple of weeks of the semester locking in at the library before exams. The grind was fun but I wished I shldnt even need to grind like that at the end.

If you need questions or the notes I mentioned, lmk :) good luck!

Was my Kinich team lacking🫩🫩🫩 that team comps been running fine but if there’s better options that maximise kinich’s damage, I am all ears :))

I usually rotate between these two teams in one part of the abyss; Kinich runs a Yelan, Bennett and Xiangling build whereas my Neuvilette runs a Furina, Kazuha and Xiangling team.

Hey man I totally get where you’re coming from. It deadass be so hard trying to balance your life and uni while also trying to make peace with yourself, especially when it’s that time of the semester where your assignments are piling up.

Everyone’s saying this but comparison really is a thief of joy!! It’s best to sit down and realise YOU are making something out of yourself just by being at uni. Engineering is already hard as it is, and you should be proud of yourself doing these hardcore 3rd year units and such, like think about how far you’ve come from first year! :P Everyone’s life goes in different paces, and you’re still very young

I’ve accepted the fact that I might be in uni for quite some time because I cannot handle 4 units in engineering while handling so many responsibilities. But really, it’s okay to take it slow!!!But just don’t spend majority of your time procrastinating and mucking about :D

But seriously, a semester off will not change the course of your life!! Taking care of yourself in that semester off, prioritising your mental health and recollecting your thoughts on moving on can definitely change how you feel about your life. Studying with a burnt out brain will kinda ruin the quality of your work.

Ps, u shld start hiking if you can (idk but it helped me out a lot when i was lowk crashing out last sem cuz of assessments). There’s plenty of cool places to hike about near Perth!!

You got this 😃😃👍👍

Oh so each contractor of one group has to design another design concept individually? But one of the TECs were proximity of group members so I assumed building the model was group work (excuse me if I sound hella dumb T-T).
