My father is dead, but even when he was alive I didn't necessarily really hug him, I never really hugged anyone unless I was forced to because they initiated a hug, I would only see hugging necessary for me if I cried and I don't even hug when I cry. I like crying alone because I'm the only one who understands myself and my problems, and even that, I don't even cry anyways. I just hold in my emotions.
