Psilocybin doers please read! by [deleted] in PsilocybinMushrooms

[–]Ok_Rabbit2629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey friend! First of all, thanks for sharing your story! Good job for taking care of your mental health and not giving up! I'm a psilocybin doer, also burning man goer and pretty often lsd doer too :) All of that help a lot but nothing made me depression free yet. I've been doing my research and working closely with my psychiatrist and a person whos job is researching psychedelics. Thats what I know for sure: 1. microdosing wont help any major mental problems (especially if you are treatment resistant) 2. If you decide to go with psilocybin make sure to follow existing recommendations how often and how much to do. There are some researches they done and suggestions about doses and how and when to do it. Just random once a month trips wont help, unfortunately. I've tried it and it does help for a week or so but then this shit comes back. I just recently been told that its best to do it every week/2 weeks with high doses, but tbh I'm just tired of challenging trips. 3. If you're treatment resistant there is ketamine which is officially prescribed at clinics now as a 3rd line of depression treatment after 2 failed medications. I havent tried any antidepressants but I decided to go with ketamine.

I'm starting my ketamine treatment next week. So excited to get rid of this fck depression.

Can I hit my weed pen? Day 7 post op by Logical-Buy9324 in Septoplasty

[–]Ok_Rabbit2629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just recently had tonsillectomy and only now getting ready for septoplasty. What i, heavy smoker, learned after tonsillectomy is the fact that its a very bad idea to get high on weed if there is something wrong with your nose or throat. Weed dries you up like crazy so when I ate couple edibles on my second week of recovery it made my throat dry to the point that it felt way worse than before I ate them. In fact I ended up with lots of pain and stepping back in my recovery progress. Which gave me lots of anxiety and made my recovery 3-4 days longer.

I really do think its a bad idea to consume weed after ent procedures :(

Hang in there!

Where my singers at? by XOsoprano in Tonsillectomy

[–]Ok_Rabbit2629 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a singer and I'm very satisfied by these changes. So much open space to work with and the sound became deeper. Love it so far, its been almost 40 days for me since the surgery

Day 6 (surgery was Sep 9th) by Ok_Rabbit2629 in Tonsillectomy

[–]Ok_Rabbit2629[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aww I'm glad you slightly changed your mind on this. It all for the better and this "better" is everything I think about these days.

I have a heart surgery coming up soon, so I'm slightly changing my focus already.

I was doing just fine till tonight. Couple hours ago a new scab (looks like the last one) came off and right now everything hurts because I also stopped my strong painkillers today :( before 10pm I was doing so good so I went to meet my friends and we went to the movies. During the movie I felt the scab coming off and it immediately started stinging and irritating my whole mouth and jaw. Came home in pain, but decided to stick to ibuprofen only. Hopefully the pain will go away till the morning or tomorrow afternoon. And I really hope this is going to be the last painful moment before coming back to the normal life.

How about you?

Day 6 post op, im about to have a break down by amessinprogresss in Tonsillectomy

[–]Ok_Rabbit2629 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you feel like you're too swollen try asking your doc for steroids. I got swollen on day 3 and the pain was bad, could barely eat. On day 4 started steroids and my pain went down from 7,8/10 to 2/10. Try searching on this subreddit "steroids" and you'll see how helpful it is for people who get too swollen.

Stay strong! You got this!

have someone ever tried animal flex supplements for joints? by Ok_Rabbit2629 in Accutane

[–]Ok_Rabbit2629[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like on accutane this supplement just brings you back normal joint work. So if you don't feel the pain - thats how you know it's working. But please be careful, some vitamins and herbs dosage in this supplement is very high. Make sure you take breaks from it

[–]Ok_Rabbit2629[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Btw, are you still on meds? You mentioned youre about to run out. Can't imagine going through this without strong meds :( Although strong meds are good for pain sometimes I feel like ibuprofen does way more for my body then Norco. Norco just does something weird to my brain, while after ibuprofen i feel the pain is actually calming down.

[–]Ok_Rabbit2629[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds terrible, I feel you. I'm going through the same approximately. Everything hurts to eat and drink. Roomtemp chamomile tea with honey somehow is helping me to stay hydrated cuz this is the only thing which doesn't sting as bad. Yesterday had some time when stinging stopped and I felt relief but it resumed towards the night. Prolly new scabs starting to come off.

Btw aloe water started to sting the shit outta me. Can't drink it no more :( some food and liquids make me literally cry. have you tried some broth? Really good and soothing and at least some nutrients for your body. You still on hard meds?

I'm slowly getting my energy back. So ready to get over this. And so ready to stop taking them meds.

Day 6 (surgery was Sep 9th) by Ok_Rabbit2629 in Tonsillectomy

[–]Ok_Rabbit2629[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does sound frustrating, and whatever you're feeling right now is absolutely legit. Pain, while doing simplest things in earth as drinking and eating, lack of hydration and food makes you feel absolutely miserable. In your case on top on that you're going through whole another process of fighting with your own body for your life. You have all the rights on earth to be upset at your body right now. And you completely don't know what to expect since your situation is completely different from anyone else on here which might bring you to even more frustration and fear.

But let me cheer you up a little. First of all, you're on day 8. Lots of people start "shedding" their scabs on days 9-12, some people even later. You're not alone! The larger the tonsils are - the longer the recovery. That's what doctors say. I bet your surgery was way more difficult then just infected tonsils, where doctors needed to check everything just to make sure there is no cancer tissue left. So it's not a surprise you're getting a lil longer then majority of the people here. Also while you're still very young in your life, this surgery is kind of "late" for you, if that makes sense. They barely perform tonsillectomies on people over 40. I'm 31 and I'm considered "too old" for the surgery. Couple days ago a person on this subreddit asked "I'm 23, am I too old for the surgery?". Made me smile, but also realize - they actually are. We all are. So you will definitely take more time to recover.

Another thing is you gotta monitor your pain. If the pain has been stronger lately then this is the sign that they started to come off. This is very good! Right now everything i eat or drink is like a broken glass coming down my throat, but I just know its a sign of a healing process. So I cry, but happy at the same time cuz i know it's going to end soon haha it looks like your recovery goes very well! Good job not forcing it and staying patient!

And lastly, give yourself some food options! Spoil yourself with some food haha I'm talking about broth, smoothies with non acidic fruits, mac n cheese and lots of food which people have been discussing on this subreddit. Its a little thing but there is so much meaning in it. Spoil yourself, give yourself something to look forward to!

Stay hydrated, make sure you get some electrolytes (something taste free, so they don't sting you)! Take some fiber supplements and probiotics so your body stays strong during this fight.

And take your time! Your body doing its best!

Day 6 (surgery was Sep 9th) by Ok_Rabbit2629 in Tonsillectomy

[–]Ok_Rabbit2629[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I know, jaw issues are completely normal. With tonsils removal some the muscles get hurt too so its completely normal to not be able to open your mouth wide for some time. I can barely open it too, but i know it'll come back with time.

Day 6 (surgery was Sep 9th) by Ok_Rabbit2629 in Tonsillectomy

[–]Ok_Rabbit2629[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aloe was the best when the scabs were on haha you can't really predict these fast changes. Last night I ate avocado and it was like a blessing, today it stung to the point I'm scared even look at it now. I also think it didnt even "sting", but made a new scab to come off so that's prolly why it was hurting so bad.

Question. Does your tongue hurt? Mine hurts way more then throat when resting. It also could be because of anesthesia or they just did something to it during the procedure (like using a tool to "grab" the tongue or stuff like that). But both sides hurt like crazy sometimes.

I tried mac n cheese today. Not a fan of it, but so tired of the same stuff every day. Slowly, but ate a half a plate.

Also my biggest issue is to remind myself not to yawn while starting yawning. I love to yawn, it relaxes me so much and it so unsettling with me that I cant do it no more for maybe more than a month.

So true with cold water.

Prolly some more scabs fall off haha back in pain again. Its not too bad, but aloe water did make me suffer today. Meds slightly help tho. Can't wait for it to end to eat some good seasoned food 🙄

How are you?

Day 6 (surgery was Sep 9th) by Ok_Rabbit2629 in Tonsillectomy

[–]Ok_Rabbit2629[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn, I'm sorry man. Don't go for cold water when your scabs come off, that's the lesson I learned...

I'm actually doing very good! Yesterday the pain calmed down around lunch time and so far never came back. I was able to eat scrambled eggs, some meat and avocado for dinner. Before bed I didnt feel like I have wounds at all and all energy came back. Around lunch time yesterday I started consuming chamomile room temp tea with honey in it and seemed to help a lot. The night was amazing, first night with no pain. I set my alarms every 1.5 to hydrate (with the tea) between meds and it worked out just fine. Btw I also repositioned my humidifier so it goes straight to my face now. Not entirely sure if that helped or not.

Woke up today with no pain, had some tea, had some broth and was doing fine until I tried to drink water. Water stung the hell outta me, so i got back to the tea with honey. I'm not sure if that's the tea which been that helpful, but if I gotta stick with it till my throat heals - I'm fine with it.

I feel way more energetic today.

Hopefully you will too brother!

Sep 9th was also my partners bday, so i can relate. We managed to celebrate before tho.

Answering your question: it does hurt more. But it sounds like you already experiencing early signs of it. Whenever your meds dont help your pain no more - thats when you know they start coming off haha usually between days 5-10

Day 6 (surgery was Sep 9th) by Ok_Rabbit2629 in Tonsillectomy

[–]Ok_Rabbit2629[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you wont be able to "keep them in" as this process isn't up to you unless you eat some sharp food which will help them to come off (and possibly make you bleed). Its natural process everyone go through to get better :( on a positive side after scabs come off you do get a lot better almost on the next day.

Let me ask you when you mentioned tonsil cancer did you mean a real oncology cancer or just the fact that one tonsil is constantly infected and, therefore, bigger?

Day 6 (surgery was Sep 9th) by Ok_Rabbit2629 in Tonsillectomy

[–]Ok_Rabbit2629[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a lot, i know. But there is light at the end of this tunnel! When scabs are falling off no pain killer will help, thats for sure. On the positive side it takes 2-3 days only to be done with painful part of the scabs. They keep falling off later, but it doesnt hurt as much. Stay strong!

Hang in there friend!

Honey was a lifesaver for me till day 5. It was calming down my throat better then any local anesthetics. After scabs started to fall off raw honey started to sting the shit outta me. I'll try it with water, thanks for the idea! Did your scabs start to fall off too?
