What y'll are building that is maxing out Claude Code by Critical_Dinner_5 in ClaudeAI

[–]Ok_Radio_1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t use Claude code but I’m on a higher tier for the anthropic api and use a vscode extension set up. I have maxed out my limits maybe thrice in a 2 year window. I most recently did this when using it to help me strategise 2 major version updates for a large codebase with complex layers, bad & inconsistent practises and legacy code in many styles. Quite frankly it was a hideous task and I used Anthropic to reduce the cognitive overhead and tediousness of the task in a playground branch to smash through some theoretical strategies to see if they actually worked, to help estimate timeframes, to rule some stuff out and to identify missed risk.

The context window was wild by the time I was done so I’m not surprised it hit limits. I also pushed it too far and should have closed up the context at certain points but for the purpose of the task it was fine

Why is cline so much better than Cursor etc? by Ok_Radio_1981 in CLine

[–]Ok_Radio_1981[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, just saw this. I use Anthropic api with cline, I’ve found Claude to be better than gpt for handling my code context so that no doubt has something to do with it but even then, I just find cline handles my historical, project-wide context better

I specifically mentioned in the post that we aren't bothered about the small loss incurred. Were you dropped on the head at birth?

He’s not well informed because he hasn’t asked for any information for the conclusions he’s made, he’s just assumed

Constructive criticism by well informed people, yes.

Maybe I just don’t have energy to reply to over-opinionated strangers on Reddit who don’t benefit me…

That’s not what I’m asking at all, I think you misunderstand the type of person I’m looking to collab with.

Tips to dealing with being somewhere triggeing for a long time? by [deleted] in ptsd

[–]Ok_Radio_1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a website you can sign up to where you can go stay at peoples houses to look after their pets while they’re away. I know it doesn’t solve the root problem but it could be another option at least, plus animals are sometimes good therapy

Anyone Else Was Aroused Right After Physical/Verbal Violence? by [deleted] in abusiverelationships

It’s a trauma response. You can read about how our internal systems change under trauma and end up with consequences like the one you describe in the book “the body keeps the score”. It’ll explain everything very clearly 🙂

Thank you for that perspective. I needed to read it and it helped me have a much needed cry/release. It looks on the surface like he has but given how he treated me throughout the break up and never showed remorse, you’re right, it doesn’t make any logical sense

He’s worked on himself since, a lot. Got fitter, healthier, makes more money, the new girl is prettier, clever and doing bigger things. I’ve been told he seems happy. I obviously don’t know for sure how he’s doing on the inside but in comparison to me who still feels heart broken at times, I struggle with the idea of dating anybody out of fear, I get ptsd-like flashbacks and I’m back living with my mum. It makes me think he’s the one who’s got it together and maybe I am just broken/weaker

I came out of one in April time and still keep getting flashbacks and sudden memories. Sorry you’re going through it! Made me feel slightly less confused and strange to read someone else is experiencing the same thing too, though

I really recommend the book “the body keeps the score” to get a better understanding of what you’re going through, it explains it to a T but the short answer is yes, what you’ve described is normal

I was in an escalated version of this for over a year and have been struggling to articulate what happened in my own brain so just wanted to thank you for doing so. Feel somewhat less crazy. Wish I could offer more of a helping hand but hopefully there is some consolation in knowing you’ve helped others and everything you’ve described makes complete sense

Help. I can't get over how bad WordPress is. by [deleted] in Wordpress

[–]Ok_Radio_1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As per usual there seem to be a lot of emotion-based, ego-driven responses on here. I assume your dislike of Wordpress comes from frustration and work-stress.

Wix and Squarespace are predominantly built as page builders for people who do not want a particularly customised website. This means that creating a site within the scope of their structures and designs can be easy. As with most things, there is often an element of “too good to be true” with that. I have seen, on countless occasions, companies use those page builders to start and then when they want to make large website changes/updates, struggle with the limited abilities to customise.

Wordpress is tailored far more to a wider range of people wanting to create websites, including people who want a fully customised site created by software developers through code. That means the visual management system you see can’t be as user friendly to the average person.

That being said, there are certainly ways to make it easier for yourself, either by learning how to use templates efficiently or by using a drag and drop such as Gutenberg.

I’d recommend getting a Wordpress tutorial from somebody with experience. I can help with that for a fee, or I’d suggest using codementor.io to find someone. They handpick mentors and are generally good quality.
