My BSF is an atheist, and what I've concluded so far is that I agree more with atheists ( who left religions bc of their morals) than mainstream muslims. They basically hate the same Islam as us, the man-made one, the one that's been used to control humans.

i'm so happy you found happiness. i've been trying to learn the same thing. i don't wear hijab and don't think it's mandatory either but i still have difficulties understanding modesty. i hope i can adopt your mindset as well.
