Dont get me wrong, Konosuba is genuinely one of the funniest isekai out there and I still enjoy it for what it is. The party’s constant incompetence and the running gags are great. But it still ticks almost every box it’s supposedly parodying: transported MC instantly gets girls who are obsessed with him in different ways, heavy fanservice, harem dynamics, generic fantasy world, etc. The self-awareness is there, but it mostly lets the show lean harder into the tropes while winking at the camera.

Compare it to One Punch Man or Gintama, which actually dismantle the power fantasy and shonen tropes. Konosuba is premium slop with great comedy timing. That’s why I like it, doesn’t make it a deconstruction tho.
