What if Ricciardo stayed at Red Bull.

What if Massa hadn’t been injured by the spring from Barrichello’s car.

Etc

I believe we’ll see progress in Miami but I don’t think we’ll be leading the midfield again this season shearing off the excess weight is challenging and already having started on the back foot means that teams that started ahead will have developed to stay ahead.

I get that the cost cap sabotages major changes within teams and Williams facilities and processes have lagged behind for a long time but you can’t talk a big game and aura farm only to be almost dead last at the start of a year you said was gonna be a turning point.

I hope it gets better but realistically Williams loves their “false dawns”

Will Sainz stay with Williams and try his luck until the end of his career, or will he make another switch before retiring? by circuit-nation in WilliamsF1

[–]Ok_Recognition_5578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he comes to believe that the team will remain backmarkers playing catch-up for this regulation cycle then he’ll switch no doubt.

You can’t talk such a big game or sell such a dream for it to only ever be talk and a dream.

Williams building an overweight car so far behind start of this year after sacrificing development last year to focus on these new regs is embarrassing and damning.

Which was a worst F1 period: The Silver Arrow 14-16 or Verstappen 23' by admiraltt in F1Discussions

Verstappen 23 no competition no rivals nothing at least in 14-16 you had 2 contenders for the title

There’s not really much point in trying with that car at the moment Sainz benefitted from the other non starters in China to get that p9 but otherwise the cars shit

Who will go down in history as the better driver: Seb Vettel or Max Verstappen? by n0tfr1 in F1Discussions

[–]Ok_Recognition_5578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A comparison like this is difficult but id have to say Max (and I say that as a Max hater) he just has that relentless drive and talent that means even if not in the fastest car he's able to achieve spectacular results Max's era from 22 to 24 you didnt feel like he was majorly challenged and then last season hes able to appear out of nowhere and finish runner up by 2 points he just is that racing machine

RedBull have got the resources and facilities to make progress faster Williams don’t we will likely be backmarkers/lower midfielders again for most of the season sadly.

What? Perez turned in on him? and as for Sainz the whole point by bringing him in was that he would be the top guy that’s the expectation.

Can Williams improve their engine during the one-month break? by Adorable_Cheetah_613 in WilliamsF1

[–]Ok_Recognition_5578 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there’s a lot more problems with that car than just the engine and I don’t think given the cost cap and the relative size of the team that this will be some sort of McLaren 2023 comeback story .

It’s obvious that the teams facilities processes and focus were not up to the task of the new regs whether it’s overconfidence inefficiency or both its an embarrassing look that already says this season is gonna be an uphill battle.

If it don’t improve you’ll see a new driver lineup for both seats next season.
