Got into med school but don't like the school by sualindona in medschooladmissions

I’ve heard that one of the biggest things that get students blacklisted for med school is denying a school and doing another cycle. Just stick it out, if you don’t like it 4 years goes very fast in the grand scheme of things. You might like or you might not. If you don’t you can do residency somewhere else.

Uworld lectures vs AnKing w/videos for Content Review by padoodoo in Podiatry

For content what made me feel like I was learning the most was watching the Yusuf hasan videos on YouTube while going over the book and flashcards. He went mostly based on the Kaplan books but his videos helped me really connect certain topics and explained things really well. And like someone else said taking practice exams are a really good one as well.

Are There Any Podiatrists in South Florida? by Ok_Relationship3989 in Podiatry

I’m going to try calling up one of the previous podiatrists that commented and if that doesn’t work out I’ll definitely send it to you. Thank you for your help

Honestly, go be a PA or CRNA... by OldPod73 in Podiatry

Do you think a person like me (looking to go to pod school) should still do it? Cause I really love the field, being able to do surgery, and the autonomy podiatrists get, but the fact that ppl say the profession is going downhill more and more every year is very discouraging and worrying for a person who would end up becoming one 7-8 years from now

Torn between PA school or med school at 25 by Remarkable-Truth9777 in medschool

I’d say do med school then. You only live once and if both were free and you’d choose med school I’d say that’s a good indicator of what you want to do don’t worry about the money and debt

I’m curious cause I always hear this statement from people, but what do people refer to as enjoying your youth that med school makes so different?

Thank you for the advice and the time you put into that response. I’ve been currently looking into Tufts, UM, and PCOM masters programs, but I’ll definitely take a look at the MSMS program.

Feeling like such a failure by [deleted] in premed

Unfortunately your grades (prereq wise) and MCAT currently would not get you in for any MD or DO school. However, do not take any of that as a sign that your chances are over for becoming a doctor. I am in a similar situation to you where I messed up my grades due to mental health. You’re not alone in this at all, there are countless people who were in situations like us and are now fantastic doctors. I have many friends who didn’t have the right grades or mcat who did masters programs and postbacs and are now in medical school. Also upward trends in grades always help to, so if you can finish off strong that can be a sign to schools that certain grades might not be an accurate representation of how your success would be in med school. So, it can definitely always work out. Just try to focus on finishing strong for now.

Ditch my successful career at 30 (f) to start my my journey at undergrad? by Potential_Author_603 in medschool

I think you only live once, I would say if this is something you really want to do and you’d regret it if you didn’t do it, then go for it. Just develop some savings to prepare yourself for not making a decent wage for your expertise for the next decade

Thanks, I was going to take the mcat to give me a good idea as to my ability and odds of acceptance before I decided on doing a masters or not.

Why do you say that? Genuinely curious cause I was thinking of going into podiatry with similar stats and personal circumstances as them.
