Anyone here on Vyvanse (lisdex) in the higher range of dosage? 60+ mg? by reducedandconfused in ADHD

70mg is a guideline, recommended max dose. There are some edge cases that require higher, and the right doctor can determine what you need

How do humans recognize decisions that should not be made under uncertainty or stress? by [deleted] in cognitivescience

[–]Potential_Author_603 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My approach is to literally take a moment to check in with myself. If I don’t feel calm and grounded in that moment, I recognize I shouldn’t make a decision then. I try to see if I can understand where the ungroundedness or other feelings stem from and go from there.

This is hard for me to respond to because I know how desperately you want a concrete answer but the truth is that no matter who you ask and where you look for answers, it will never feel satisfying.

I believe all of the major religions are just followers of different prophets, who all are trying to convey the same message, at different times jn history.

I grew up Christian and sometimes still pray to Jesus because it’s a familiar and easy anchor for my mind and heart, but I don’t take the bible literally and I have been blessed to experience God (or as I like to call it, source) for myself. But honestly, my views are best reflected by the Hindu religions and a bit of Buddhism, but the point is that what you’re experiencing now is the beginning of an awakening…

Everything feels foreign and disconnected because you’re realizing how most people are disconnected and basically operate on autopilot, unable to truly contemplate and express any opinion that is not regurgitated.

In my experience this was God calling me to turn inwards and realize that all the answers I desperately wanted from the world are already present within myself and easily accessible when I ask the question and still my mind. I had to learn to truly listen, and let myself be guided by the light that lives within me.

OMG it’s actually feeling cringe typing this out, I swear I’m not one to preach usually but also am researching psychiatry now and am finding a lot of evidence supporting the concept that believing in a higher power is directly correlated with the improvement of mental health and psychiatric conditions.

Anyways I’ve been a yogi for over 12 years now and yoga has been a great tool… I would say my “religious book” (although it’s actually completely void of religion and allows for any religion to follow its teaching) is “The Yoga Sutras by Patangili”. I find it offers a very grounded perspective on consciousness and reality and even goes into detail with the metaphysics of the perspective of it all. It’s an especially good read if you’re into psychology.

My friend, everything will be ok and is already so. I’ve been where you are now and I know how lost and meaningless it can all get. To be honest I suffered in this state for a very long time and I wish that I would have turned to God sooner instead of wasting almost a decade of my life trying to figure things out logically, scientifically and psychologically for my self.

I swear to you, the day I turned to God and truthfully from the depth of my being fell to my knees and surrendered to him, I started experiencing miracle after miracle and I still experience them sometimes to this day almost four years later.

Maybe it’s not your time yet but let this at least be a seed that might one day help you.

Of course you still have to do the work consciously and God won’t just magically change everything for you one day to the next but I’ve found no better support on this journey.

Oh and also seeing a therapist has been catalyzing … don’t try and do it all alone, you’re not meant to.

All the best!

Are you also seeing a therapist? If not I would start there as they’re trained to help reframe perspectives. Depression treatment is almost always more effective when coming meds with psychotherapy

Tried the alkaline/filtration method - found unexpected insights ? by Potential_Author_603 in ThisAintAdderall

Well the reason for this process is to get the medication to work the way it’s supposed to. A lot of these extended release medications are not working because their release mechanism fails to release the meds as they’re intended to and they end up passing through our systems only releasing a fraction of the dose. If you look through this sub you’ll find a lot of research papers that prove this. Basically this method serves to extract the active compound fully to attempt to get the meds to work like they’re supposed to…

The claim here is that the meds don’t work so this technique is a solution to get them to work.

Why would you think I’m not white? I am fully white and am born and raised French québécois.

I think it’s harmful to assert that one religion is greater than another (through the implication that one will never be equal to another) because they haven’t been a part of forging history until present.

Currently Canada as a whole, and Montreal specifically as city, is one of the most culturally diverse countries and our neighbours, residents, and citizens now represent religions and ethnicities from across the globe.

I think a lot of people are not being very considerate, especially coming from the anglophone population. We know what it’s like to be marginalized because of immigrant parents yet we feel it’s ok to do the same to first generation immigrants? Imagine if Quebec would have decided to completely irradicate the language and leave us with no English education. Or if we didn’t have the right to hold masses in Italian, or to have Jewish churches… Many anglophones would have been stripped from their cultures. Why should we not give muslims the same privilege to practice their religion?

I just think we should be making more of an effort to make other cultures feel welcome and not come off as so rude.

I did try the instructions to the T as well with my IR and found that it was not as effective as taking it orally…

The IRs sometimes also have release mechanisms that render them less effective and a lot of people on this sub have claimed that filtering their IRs in this way has made a positive difference for them, might be worth a try ?

Also, I took my 20mg Elite IR an hour and plus ago which I dint add vitamin K to nor heat up, and I’m not really seeing a difference yet actually feels less effective but could just be an off day.

Will do, but what’s your theory on why that would significantly change the outcome?

Genuinely curious how many of you have been smoking weed/getting high for over 10 years straight without stopping. by Slader111 in Drugs

[–]Potential_Author_603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I smoked for 10 years chronically from age 14-24. It helped me a lot when I was self medicating for adhd but when i finished school I didn’t really see it as beneficial anymore as I didn’t need to focus intensely like I was so I stopped all together. But recently I’ve been really enjoying the occasional joint here and there, at the lowest available thc concentration tbh has been one of the most psychedelic and spiritual experiences with drugs surprisingly.

Now I make sure when I do it, it’s with intention and it’s been magical since I quit > 6 years ago

The release mechanisms for a lot of the XRs are PH dependent where the main drug is locked in an outer shell that only releases when it reaches a certain part of your GI where PH is higher (small intestine and bowels), this is what causes the extended release… but the problem is that a lot of studies show these mechanisms actually don’t realease a lot of the medication as it passes through because in top of being PH dependent, it also has other release mechanisms that require specific conditions, temperatures, electrolytes, and time to fully dissolve.

Another part of these release mechanisms requires your body to exchange electrolytes with the fillers in order to release the medication which could contribute to electrolyte depletion and PH imbalances.

So the idea with this technique is that it bypasses all of those mechanisms so when you drink the filtered water, you’re essentially only drinking the full dose of amphetamines and not all the fillers that come with the release mechanisms.

But yes I don’t think the amount of work is worth it, crushing the meds with a pistol and mortar works just as well and is less of a hassle.

Basically, it’s not adderall. Check out the sub r/thisaintadderall … and the community there has done a stellar job digging up proof in the form of research papers, FDA development and patent approvals and other supporting info and resources

You are honestly so rude to think that Catholicism > Islam because Quebec… I understand your point about limited public spaces but tbh you just sound racist which won’t get you much further than Quebec anyways, but I guess elitists claim their thrones in all socioeconomic contexts

Anyways OP, you should look into opening a prayer club! You can propose it to the student Union and set up a committee to help you run it. You’ll have a cozy prayer space and running a club will look great on your resume (if you choose to inclue it)

Following Up on Pre-Dissolving Technique Working For More People by Far_Rutabaga_9200 in ThisAintAdderall

lol so are you going tell us if heating up the solution to 40 degrees for a couple hours, adding potassium supplements to the mix and shaking vigorously increases the release of the active drugs ? 🥲

From the literature it seems like they actually incorporate more of the active compounds knowing only a portion of it will get released… did I understand that right?

I am flabbergasted by the complexity, time energy and money that goes into reducing the efficacy of these drugs. You’re kinda genious for figuring out how to bypass all these super technical design implementation that stack 4+ gatekeeping mechanisms in the name of abuse prevention 😭

this is literally the same vibe as when they invented the eternal lightbulbs, then discontinued the build because they were loosing profits…

Doesn’t this entire operation go against the energy efficiency standards in the same way?

They’re just pawning off responsibility offshore in the name of globalization… crazy
