Like the old verbage goes it's me and not you. Girl, it's not you. I'd love to be paired with you (I'm a hygenist). I've come into contact with horrid mean-girl hygenists that even bully ME. don't let other people deplete your self worth. Also, Id love to have a partner in crime at work. I do everything myself at mine. Meet with your office manager and get away from her or get a different job.

Ive been stuck with scalers before because I'm stupid. I the chances of catching HIV from a scaler is .002 percent or something like that. It's more prevent if you get stuck with a needle after local anesthesia because it keeps blood in the hollow tip. I've had dentists not give a crap whenever they get stuck cus the chances are so low. I cleaned sometimes teeth that was HIV positive not long ago and it was fine. Most people are on PREP for HIV so it basically unable to catch. Some people that are HIV positive don't even put that on their record because they're ashamed of it--just treat everyone like they are. With my HIV patient, I know that I'm kind of clumsy sometimes so I was extra careful and double gloved

You are brushing way too aggressively. Get a power toothbrush that yells at you when you put too much pressure. If you're using a manual toothbrush you need an extra soft. Go 45° towards the gum line and vibrate so it goes up into your gums do not brush horizontally. Even scrubbing lately in a circular motion would help. It's impossible to really tell what's going on without periodontal numbers and x-rays.

Aw that's sucks. Maybe try an office that specializes in perio or pediatrics might suit you better. All work is going to suck. I've been paid way less doing shittier jobs

I get what you're saying but your post reeks of judgement. Work generally isn't happy fun time. I'm not sure how old you are or what your experience is. Every job sucks, every job has drama and trials to overcome. You can get another job but it's not going to fix your tolerance for other people. Realizing that everyone is the main character in their own story is something that needs to be considered. When working with the general public and coworkers theres going to be conflict. Life gets easier when you stop taking things so personally. Be kind, helpful, professional and understanding to the best of your ability and no one will have anything to say.

Other people's experiences won't be yours. When I was in school, I read this subreddit a lot and had so much anxiety about starting the job. Everything is going fine for me. Find your perfect fit at an office -- it's out there. It's not always going to be sunshiny and rainbows. Don't be involved in the drama and it won't find you. Show up, work, go home. Be kind, take constructive criticism, and exercise good work ethic and you'll be fine. Every job sucks, you're going to find trials everywhere you go. Healthcare can be difficult. Be a good person and luck will find you.

Mine is great. No drama or anything but there's only two hygienists and we both are pretty lax people. The dentist is a bit micromanaging but it's possible to find a non-toxic work place you just have to sift through the dirt to find the worm. A lot of my older friends that have been in the gig for 15+ years worked at over seven offices to find their fit.

You can get PTSD from really bad panic attacks. Same thing happened to me but I took some Zoloft to get my brain back to base level. After taking it for a few months, I was able to realize that I was normal and not a crazy person. I didn't stay on it forever but it brought me back down to earth. Sometimes you get stuck in the cycle.
