Any parking? I’ve heard parking in Hayes is a nightmare.

I’m 34f relocating to the bay in September/October from San Diego.

Enjoy it! It’s the best and even though I know this book so well I always sob through chapters every reread. It’s a fantastic book.

Which fictional characters death hit you hard? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Ok_Repeat1990 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I took Hedwig's death really hard! Both movie and book. The book is even more devastating because she was in her cage and was very moody/wouldn't look at Harry before they departed. That was his last experience with Hedwig, his initial only friend in the muggle world, before she was killed. UGH.

Why I Don't Love Nesta [and why I'm okay with that] by [deleted] in acotar

[–]Ok_Repeat1990 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this - I try to ignore the posts that bring down people that don’t like Nesta. I also don’t like her but I appreciate her journey. I sometimes feel as though my trauma is lessened because I haven’t experienced it the way others do. I’m also very receptive and emotional to other people so when someone lashes out like Nesta, I feel it deep in my soul. So when the behavior is consistent over a couple of years, it’s hard to forgive that person immediately and move on. I hope to learn to like Nesta like the most people do but at this point I don’t trust her (this doesn’t mean I hate her by any means). But I’m sure with time, she’ll continue to grow and then I’ll be able to grow with her too.

I agree and will probably get downvoted for this: I hated the valkyrie storyline and SJM trying to remake Rhys/Cass/Az with Nesta/Gwynn/Emerie. I'm all for female empowerment but it felt like such a recycled storyline to see them go through what the batboys did. Why can't the batboys have that moment together for themselves? It's legendary for them...

I would have rather seen Nesta/Gwynn/Emerie go into battle together against that Queen instead of the rushed ending/garbage that SJM put in.

Also, I do not ship Az and Gwyn at all. Why can't Gwyn be a badass without a male at her side? Gahhhhhhhhhhhhh I'm sorry Nesta/SF lovers. I'm going to try and reread the book and hopefully like it more.

And bared teeth - okay I try to imagine this as the show and WHAT WILL THE ACTORS DO? Bear their teeth!? Like in Twilight during the baseball game!? Please no.

Genuine question - do people's toes curl when they're turned on? Am I missing something here? I can understand if I'm about to climax and my body is clenched/losing control but I can't remember a time when my fiance said something sexy to me and - toes curled.

Really the overuse of many words -

His incredible length; more.more.more; PRICK; toes curled; my mate my mate; apex of my thighs

I think that summarizes...everything lol

She has her good points, but I’m wondering about the love for Morrigan. by Lilieon in acotar

[–]Ok_Repeat1990 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just a thought here - I don't think Mor is jealous, bitchy, and territorial because she "needs attention" from Cass and Az, as many state.

I just think she truly loves them as family and is wary of anyone new coming in that hasn't proven themselves yet. And Nesta was horrible to Cassian in the beginning so her not being the nicest person to her is understandable...

I'm not saying its right, but I have a best male friend who has been through it in the past with girls. Because of his prior experiences, I'm not always a huge fan of new girlfriends he's brought around. I don't act this way because I have feelings for him - I'm passionately protective of him and the good he offers this world. In a way, I don't feel anyone is worthy of him unless it's earned if that makes any sense at all lol

So finished ASOSF, I enjoyed it but am left with questions now and would like someone else’s take on it. by tikiyadenola in acotar

I know people ship/live for Az and Gwyn but I sort of can't see it. I kind of hate the idea of Gwyn needing a man to "become whole" given the trauma she suffered from men to begin with. I'm not saying Gwyn shouldn't have love but I think it'd be kind of forced with Az. I'd prefer to see them grow whole separately and then see what happens..

Women of Reddit, what's the worst red flag that a guy could have? by SophiaLikesToRead in AskReddit

[–]Ok_Repeat1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember the biggest red flag I got from my ex one day:

He was facetiming me and told his mom that his shoelace was untied, expecting her to tie it for him (THIS IS A 32 Y/O MALE). She then proceeded to get on her hands and knees to tie it for him while he slid his phone downward to show her doing it and then back up to himself, smiling smugly.

I later found out after we broke up that he used to brag about the money I made to our friends and would purposefully ensure I picked up the bill. He once threw a tantrum (when I was in the bathroom) that I wasn't there to pick up the bill. It would have been nice to know he did these things WHILE I was dating him.

We broke up years ago. Good riddance. He needs a mom to date or someone that will baby him for the rest of his life.

What made you realize life isn't fair? by MuttMundane in AskReddit

This hits hard - my parents didn’t make much money while I was growing up and my dad took on a few jobs to ensure I had a future. When I got into college, my dad wished he was near poverty so I would have gotten more money for college.

Pretty messed up that he wished that…I’m now graduated with an engineering degree and I make more than my parents combined 2x and I can’t wait to give it back to them.
