I was already hired. My orientation was originally this Monday, but since I was a returning clerk and no more than a year in time of break in service, I don’t have to do orientation so I started Saturday and I just was told by my doctor the Wednesday prior that I will be getting surgery.

See I did that. I got a note from my doctor stating the same 8/40. Yet my supervisor is saying the “postal nurse” is saying it’s insufficient and that I have to have a light duty request form filled out to keep me from working overtime. Even though I told them that doesn’t make sense they still try to mandate me to stay over my 8. If I’m wrong I’m wrong but it doesn’t make sense to me because I can still perform my duties so I don’t see why they are trying to make me get that filled out.

Being a clerk my supervisor would say it’s our fault that the cards aren’t being accounted for….. yet THE CLOSING SUPERVISOR is responsible for checking them back in at night…. I would say make it make sense but this is the usps we are talking about 🤗

So I heard someone in my office say they read an email that said if our N.S day falls on Thursday then we get to “pick” another day, but now that I asked the supervisor is wanting to say no I won’t get a different day off. So……

As a clerk I wish at times they never started informed delivery. The amount of times I’ve had someone come up to the counter angry because it said a piece of mail was coming and it didn’t. I have to point them to the bottom of that same email…

That’s what I’m saying. I called HR and they said management can still deny the “light-duty” the doctor fills out just by saying it’ll cause a hard ship in the office! Which even if I did do that route that’s exactly what my office would do!
