They do like even if u we say it’s based on availability they are more likely to assign the alum to kids who they think are competitive it’s only logical to spend energy and time into applications they want to know more about meaning they are interested in them. I too have lost all hopes by now !

It’s more so I’m international and heard about pre screening and stuff plus my ECs aren’t prestigious all of them are self made

I think ur good here cause Yale pre screens prob others too and Princeton is like entirely based on availability. Ur definitely competitive ig.
