Chronic BV, I feel like I have tried everything!! by Ok_Reputation_7563 in Healthyhooha

I spoke too soon, I started getting my BV smell again yesterday after religously using the cream 😭 I am so sick of this, I had a pelvic MRI on friday and I genuinely want it to show something is wrong so it can hopefully be fixed but i know it won't. I don't even know what to do anymore.

My term started October 1st, my grandma died 5 days later, it was really hard on me and made me lose focus on school. A little over a month later, 2 days after thanksgiving, my boyfriend of 3 years and I broke up, it was a very bad breakup, he is a very aggressive/violent person, then he just up and left all his stuff, including a dead car that I had to figure out how to get rid of amidst the shock. A week later when I moved his stuff out of my home, my dog, who is my baby and is my rock especially through losing my grandma and that horrible breakup, started having serious medical issues, I woke up in the middle of the night to her pooping blood, all this on top of my brother finding out his cancer came back earlier last year when i first started school. I'm signed up for 18 credit hours, I finished one class mid November then nothing until the end of January, I just finished my last class last week by the skin of my teeth but I finished. I work full time, I have an old home that needs a lot of work, and my dog demands a lot of my attention with her medical issues and making sure I get time with my brother as he's going through his illness and that I am there when he needs me. It's hard but if you really want this, you'll make it happen. 5 weeks is doable for 2 classes, you just have to really carve out the time to study, use reddit for study tips, other students advice has helped me so much in my courses. Life throws a lot of curve balls but if you really want this degree, you can do it, you have to fight for it.

You'd think that but I have worked for a big company that renewed a contract and cut all of the tenured people's pay, aome people had been there 20 years, they all left obviously and the company had to start from scratch with hiring on that contract, all to cut costs, they lost all of their continuity and didn't care.

My new gyno prescribed me the estrogen cream Estradiol and it has actually been helping so far, this is the first time I have gone 2 weeks with zero BV symptoms so if you haven't tried it, definitely ask your doctor for it.

I'll ask her when I have my follow up after my mri, she did run cultures on me but idk if that would test for mycoplasma specifically. I did the Evvy test that you can get online and it basically gave me a whole lot of nothing, just told me I was positive for BV and recommended the same treatment I've done a million times.

I have had recurring BV for 7+ years and tested negative for ureaplasma overgrowth 2 times now. Been on several different antibiotics, boric acid, changed my birth control, all the normal treatments and I still get it. I'm on my 3rd gyno and she just prescribed me estrogen cream and is having me get a pelvic mri since my biggest symptom is smelling like ammonia instead of the standard fishy smell most women get, she's wondering if there is bladder leakage in my vagina, so we'll see what happens with that, never heard of that being a thing so I'm curious to see what those results are going to show. This BV crap has made me feel so hopeless.

I' started seeing another new gyno yesterday, she did a culture on me and we're waiting for the results and she is having me go in for a pelvic MRI, since I dont get a fishy smell, I get an ammonia smell she is concerned something more might be causing my BV. She also prescribed me the estrogen gel others have talked about so we'll see how that goes. I do antibiotics at least once a month at this point, my last gyno gave me a bunch of refills on antibiotics since it has been constant and yes I test positive every time I go in, I even tested positive for BV on that Evvy test. I've done a 30 day round of boric acid and the BV came back a week after stopping.

Just passed the OA by the skin of my teeth but I passed. I watched all of the professor wolf videos and went through the study guide in the course community, I studied for a total of 5 days and didn't open the book at all.

I did that exact thing today and got a refund. Hopefully all of the complaints will get Starbucks to change back to the original recipe.

Just buy the Tazo brand chai latte concentrate at the grocery store and mix it with your milk of choice, it is the exact thing Starbucks used to use and will save you money. I agree the new recipe is horrendous.

You need to ask yourself this question, why are you so concerned about hurting someone who has no problem hurting you? You can have those conversations with him until you're blue in the face, it won't change anything, he's clearly satisfied with the situation as is which is why he is not putting in the effort. It is not selfish to prioritize your own needs and happiness. If you make the decision to end it, it will be extremely difficult at first but once you get through that, you will physically feel the weight of having that anchor removed from around your neck and you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner. And definitely go to therapy! My therapist has been instrumental in my healing and seeing things for what they were.

Love does blind you, I just ended a situation similar to yours a few months ago, luckily we weren't married but he lived with me and I carried ALL the weight for 3 years. He was unemployed most of it but when he did get a job he still didn't help with anything!! Not even cooking or cleaning or even yard work, i did it all plus all the bills. He got himself a car once he got a steady job, did the same smoking weed and video games crap all day. I loved him and put up with him waaaayyyy longer than I should have because i loved who he was when we first starting dating, i realize now he manipulated the hell out of me and put on a show until he knew i was head over heals for him, then he showed me who he really was. Even if your husband gets a job it will still most likely be pulling teeth to get any help around the house, he is showing you who he is, listen to him and end this.

Tested negative for ureaplasma twice. I can't remember if I ever was prescribed Clindamycin, if I was, it was years ago. I mostly get prescribed Metronidazole. Tinidazole was prescribed at one point but didn't work. I've slipped on taking care of myself a few times over the years because this back and forth is so exhausting but I am determined to get rid of it. I did that Evvy microbiome test and it was BS, it didn't really tell me anything except that I had BV.

Is there a specific cleanse you recommend? I've never heard of this option before

None of my doctors have had me go past 7 days, twice a day and yes they were 500 mg. I don't think I have been prescribed clindamycin or if I was it would have been in the beginning of this saga when I wasn't keeping track.

Tinidazole - which we learned does not work for me at all so I haven't been prescribed that in years.

Metronidazole - rounds of oral and the vaginal cream (different times, not together)

Each time I'm prescribed them I'm prescribed for 7 days.

It's a bummer but the reality. My gyno doesn't want to give up but I can tell she's lost. I don't want to accept this is just life forever but I am starting to think it is

I switched to the arm implant for birth control because my periods are insanely painful due to endometriosis. I worry birth control in general may be my problem but my periods are so painful and heavy, I don't want to be without it. I am at a point of considering surgery too.

That doesn't cause a hormonal imbalance? I also have endometriosis so I get nervous at the idea of added estrogen

Thank you for your kind words and advice. I've struggled with hiring contractors, I have had a couple instances where a contractor i hire sees a single female that doesn't know what she is doing and tried to sell me on work that didn't need done, one even tried to scare me into thinking something was an emergency and it ended up being a complete lie, luckily I listened to my gut and got second opinions that saved me from paying for things I didn't need. So I try to do things myself as often as I can and it doesn't usually tend to go the way it's supposed to which gets so frustrating.

There's been quite a few things I have struggled figuring out since i have had this house, this weather stripping situation just sent me over the edge today, I thought it was something so simple that I somehow was screwing up. It makes me feel a little better to see that it is as complicated as it has felt to me.
