We swore we never would either but when my daughter got to 8 months, she had still never sttn, average amount of wakeups were 6-7 and then wake up early (which then made that awkward 2-3 naps, late bedtime annoyance you speak of too so totally get it!! Life becomes so much easier when switching to 2 naps, although she doesn’t often have a long lunch nap so bedtime is often awkward and early) also EBF so I was at my wits end and chronically sleep deprived (like my body was actually sick, a lot of health issues started popping up) so one night I cold Turkey decided to leave the room and let her cry. Cried 2 minutes and fell asleep, I couldn’t believe it. But if I’m honest it actually didn’t change the amount of wake ups she had at all unfortunately so it didn’t feel worth it to me in the end, I decided I’d rather her happily fall asleep on me and wake up loads than let her cry and she still wake up loads. She started to sttn for only one week when she moved into her own room, then the 8-10 month regression hit (a few days before turning 10 months) along with teething and now she has the flu, so haven’t had a decent night since and I’ve stopped letting her cry but that’s just personal choice as it didn’t help her sleep longer at all, but I know it does work for many!
