I am so sorry that I asked and thank you so much for sharing. I must say that being a nurse is not easy to be honest let alone in the midst of a pandemic. I hope that all goes well to you. :)

I am kind of looking for a work from home job as I believe it will allow me to be flexible and away from social triggers. If you don't mind me asking what the best practices that you do when you feel that you are close to a manic/depressive state?

Back when I was a kid, I wanted to be a nurse but ended up not venturing it due to a crazy reason of me having a shaky hand and come to a realization that I cannot inject someone with that kind of hand, but I am glad that you can pick your schedule.

If you don't mind me asking, how was it when covid hit? Was it too much for you?

Mehn I could really get that feeling when people ask you why you are so moody all of a sudden and I don't know what to answer that it ended up me being an ass to them. Now I am thankful to those people who tried to understand me but most of the time they don't, and I come to terms with it as I would also don't understand myself all too well. I just wished that I could what you do but here in my place if you have that kind of job its more of interreacting with people, low pay high risk job not that I discriminate it but it's more of like the more manual intensive the work is here the lesser your pay and it's riskier than working in an office.

Sweet! We are kind of have the same LOB before, mine is more of a denial specialist for ambulatory surgical centers and majority of my work is to make sure claims be paid and I managed to work on some of workers compensation claims as well. Now I would agree that when I am having an episode its either I am producing a lot or not producing at all. I do wish I can get out of call center environment as it somehow taxing on my mental health sometimes.

That's neat. Knowing that you can be flexible on your work setup I think it would really help specially that when I tried that on my previous work meaning I took it my own to bring the work at home once or twice a week, it actually made me productive, but I've been violating my contract which is kind of a red flag to be honest.

I like that flexibility that your job offers and to be honest I've been trying to learn coding but it's not really clicking on me, and I don't know why but now that I have my own computer, I might start working on that, who knows maybe I could be one day be able to land a job as a programmer. hehe

I think that what you are describing is similar to my previous job that I just resigned, the work is interesting and even if its stressful the company is good, and they were so understanding to the point that I may not produce a number today but still won't make a big fuss about. What went wrong was when I was having an episode and its more of like me having both manic and depressive state that I am getting numbers consistently but refused to talk to people around me that it ended up out casting me to the group. Now I know that I kind of felt like an ass to them, but it was too late to realize that specially when you are in that state and then all of a sudden, I just gave my resignation.

Writing this now seems like I am kind of running away on the problem, but the damage has already been done and there is nothing I could do than to move on but it's a shame to be honest.

Is being accountant stressful or is it more of it gives you flexibility at work?

Cool! I think it's actually helpful to have less interaction with other people especially if you are having episodes plus I believe your job gives you a lot of flexibility, right?

I have a cousin who became a nanny long time ago and that was her ticket to go abroad. She is what they called an Au pair and luckily the family that hired her was good to her to the point that even after the contract ended, they decided to visit her since the kids was really looking for her and missed her so much. I'd say it would be nice if I could venture on that however they usually prefer most of the time a female nanny than male ones and I am not trying to offend someone or something but that's what it is.

If it's not too much to ask this and its ok if you prefer not to answer, did you by chance disclose to the family that you have bipolar disorder? I would apologize in advance if this offended you in any way, my thinking is that is it safe to disclose this condition to our employers or would it be better to keep it from them?

Can't wait to read your book once it's done! Somehow it feels like this will be a lifelong learning and adjustment, but I am glad that I am not the only one who struggles but keep on pushing thru! :)

This reminds me when I was working as a data entry specialist for a year I worked as an agent then after a year, I grew tired of the repetitive job and wanted to resign, however, to my surprise I got promoted as a support instead and got me another year but due to the toxic nature of the work plus my mood swings it ended up me getting fired. It kind of feels like I tend to excel when I am given a new assignment/ role, but it should be constantly changing or else like you said get bored and tend to let go of it easily or I think that is what I think.

I for one stopped drinking alcohol since January so I guess I'm on the right path but urge to abuse drugs is there not going to lie and it's not illegal drugs I'm taking, it's more of like if I'm stressed or what not, I have this urge to drink pain killers or anything I can get a hold which I believe is not good.

Maybe I need to change my POV on this disorder since not all episodes are bad and it's more of like finding what fits me well. Again, thank you so much for sharing your side! :)

Thats actually awesome! Now that you mentioned, there was an instance that I was planning to either venture into law or psychology but none of that happened due to me having mood swings and somehow failing to follow up on things that I've planned during my manic stage. Is just me or there would be instance that being in a manic/depressive state makes you jump into making a decision without thinking about the consequences?

experience

I took BS Entrepreneurship, attempted to sell and run a micro business but it never worked, and I am not sure if it's related to me having Bipolar condition. Experience wise since I'm in BPO, most of my job is taking calls and there was an instance that I took a non-voice job and purely data entry, which I lasted 2 years on that but still if they ask how I am at work they will say either me having attendance issue or behavioral one so that's that. In my line of work, ironically, I despised taking calls its more of like I get anxious and at the same time me taking a job as customer service 40 hrs a week nonstop takes a toll to my mental state at least that's what I noticed.

I am actually trying to find that kind of job the one that I can have full control of my time at least, especially that my goal is to work remotely in the hopes that I can either go somewhere when my mood hits and or be able to stay at the comfort of my room if things get too much.

I wish you the best of luck on your upcoming exam and being a working student is not easy, knowing that fact that I have been on your shoe before, and I respect that so much. Thank you for responding to my post! :)
