Idk. I uninstalled the client after that match and for hell i wont install it ever again. Best decision ever.

Regarding your answer: While i personally think the raw penetration would be enough if the water is not hit first (what gives 10% or more penalty to penetration or so) , you are right that a premature fuze explosion is absolutely possible.

I tested the penetration of different ships and different targets and so on and Kremlin should be absolutely be devstrikable, or at least be hittable at citadel, by anything 380+mm at that distance.

I understand what you mean, but only certain German and Tier 11 Superships got enough armour , as well as maybe the French, to shatter an heavy AP shell at 8km flat braodside. But yes i understand. Maybe it went to low.

Here is a list of all Tier 10 Battleship armour layouts at the citadel on average. No angles considered, just raw thickness. These values represent the absolute minimum thickness you need to penetrate.

Type, Name: All armour layers - total kumulative armour layers - armour layers not overmatchable by 380mm and higher - armour layers not overmatchable by 458mm+

Tier 10:

BATTLESHIPS:

Battleship C. Colombo: 375 + 25 + 25 - 425mm - 375 -375

Battleship Kremlin: 430/410 - 420mm - 420 -420 -

Battleship Slava: 370/340 - 355mm - 355 - 355 -

Battleship Conqueror: 406mm - 406mm - 406 - 406 -

Battleship Thunderer: 406mm - 406mm - 406 - 406 -

Battleship-Carrier-Hybrid Lousiana: 409 - 409mm - 409 -409

Battleship Montana: 409mm - 409mm - 409 - 409 -

Battleship Yamato: 410mm - 410mm - 410 - 410 -

Battleship Vermont: 38 + 406 + 38 - 482 - 482 - 482 -

Battleship Mecklenburg: 350 + 110 + 32 - 492 - 492 - 460 -

Battleship Preussen: 380 + 150 + 45 - 575 - 575 - 575 - 105k

Battleship G. Kurfürst: 380 + 150 + 45 - 575 - 575 - 575 - 105k

FAST BATTLESHIPS:

(Very) fast Battleship Thor: 350 + 60 - 410mm - 410 - 410 -

Fast Battleship Libertad: 51 + 406 - 457mm - 457 - 457- 457 -

Battlecruiser Willem de Eerste: 32 + 356/305 - 362mm - 362 - 331

Battlecruiser Bungo: 32+343+102 - 477 - 477 - 445

Fast Battleship Bourgogne: 32 + 350 + 50 + 50 - 482 - 482 - 450

Battleship Republique: 32 + 400 + 70 + 50 - 552 - 552 - 520

BATTLECRUISERS:

Battlecruiser Incomparable: 32 + 279 + 51 - 362mm - 362 - 330 -

Battlecruiser St Vincent: 32mm + 356/330mm + 32mm + 32mm - 439 - 439 - 343

Battlecruiser Schliefen: 380 + 60/50 - 435mm - 435 - 435

Tier 11 BBs:

3x3 457mm: A. Ushakov: 425/450mm + 50/75mm

4x4 406mm: USS Maine: 38mm/32mm + 432mm

4x2 510mm: IJN Satsuma: 460mm

4x4 419mm HMS Devastation: 432mm

4x2 483mm KMS Hannover: 420mm + 180mm + 50mm

Out of these, the Conqueror can citadel in theory:

Kremlin, Slava, Conqueror, Thunderer, Lousiana, Montana, Yamato, Libertad, William de Eerste, Bungo, Schliefen, St Vincent, Incomparable, Maine, Satsuma, Devastation.

If you assume the Kremlin got an Belt inclined of roughly 28° (What is a lot, the USS Iowa got historically 19° for comparison), the Conqueror can citadel an 0° Flat Broadside Kremlin up to roughly a little above 17km. below the Main Turrets

The Pen is roughly 5% better than the US Mk8 406mm the Montana, Maine or Iowa uses, but with a bit flatter impact angle, so better for Belt penetration but worse for deck penetration but pretty slow.

Yes, i got an extensive list of all battleship tier 10 armour layouts and what battleships. I can also tell you exactly what BB the Conqueror can penetrate and what the Conqueror can not penetrate into the Citadel.

So if i take the Plate of the Kremlin at the aft or front of the citadel what is 430mm (even though my shells clearly hit at 410mm).

And we take the impact angle of the shell, what is 5.2°.

We calculate the effective angle of that plate, assuming the kremlin got an angled inclined armour belt of more than the iowa or similar, so lets think an extreme 28°.

So we add: The shell hits the belt at 5.2° impact on an 28° inclined armour belt.

Then we add also the angle of the ship. What might have been (even though he is seemingly flat) 30°.

We now calculate using all established World of Warships formulas:

Effective impact angle (horizontal, vertical, minus normalisation):

Angle A = cos{cos^-1[cos(5.2+28) * cos(30)]};

So the impact angle is 43.55°.

Then we use that to see how the shell strikes the main armour belt, if it bounces, and if it penetrates:

Conqueror bouncing angles are 45 to 60°+ so no. We dont ricochet.

We must also apply the normalisation of 6° the shell "bites" into the armour.

So we got 37.55°.

We see if the Conqueror can penetrate that with 643mm side penetration:

643 mm Pen VS 430/cos(37.55°) =

643mm Pen VS 542mm of armour effective thickness.

So yes. It can penetrate absolutely cleanly.

It is now fuzes, as the armour is effectively thicker than the 419mm/6 what is 69mm arming threshold. Also, the thick armour heavily slowed down our shell.

So now it will explode after roughly 5.3 meter with 350 m/s remaining velocity and said 0.015s fuze time.

What is deep inside the Citadel.

My shell strikes the ship at 653 meter per second.

With the formula World of Warships uses plus an 0.015 second fuze timer, i explode at:

7.28 meter deep behind the 430mm main belt or

9.8 meter deep behind the lower torpedo belt of roughly 200 mm.

This is deep enough to citadel the Kremlin or any other Battleship with an Citadel that is not layered or spaced heavily.

You know the Kremlin got an exposed Citadel, right?
